50 Shades of Sunday ~ China Glaze Dress Me Up

Posted on: August 5, 2012

20120805-180335.jpg This is what I came up with today for my 50 Shades of Sunday series. Dress Me Up from China Glaze. Disclaimer: For those of you new to my blog, this series is a way for me to wear a polish, in my collection, that for whatever reason I have never worn before. Sadly there are quite a few polishes which would fit the bill. Each Sunday I will wear a polish for a couple of days at least, to give a good test run. Sometimes they make it 2 days,👍 sometimes they don’t.👎.

20120805-180914.jpg. 💓Since it can be hard to actually see the nails while holding the bottle I thought I would show this picture. I think this is a very pretty polish. It will definitely ,make it’s way into my regular rotation of polishes I use on a regular basis. Let’s have one more look, shall we?

20120805-181127.jpg I think this color looks fab on my shorter nails and I think it will look even better when my nails are a little longer. 👏
Does this color qualify for my other series ‘ I Must Really Like This Color?’. I don’t think so. I do have a couple other polishes that are similar but the differences are noticeable enough that I think they each have a place and a time to be worn.🆒

In the center of the picture is Dulce de Leche by OPI, this is the same beige with a rose tint, however, the rose tint is so mild it is almost non recognizable making the beige more prominent. This could give someone ‘mannequin hands’ with the right skin tone, or the wrong skin tone, however you want to look at it. On me it is just a very pretty neutral, something I would wear to a job interview. On the left is Dusty Rose by Gosh. This is a UK brand but I have heard rumblings of it coming to the states, so be on the look out for Gosh polish. This color, although called Dusty Rose, should have just been called Dusty as there isn’t anything rosy about it. Again, like the Dulce de Leche you would have to be very careful about the ‘mannequin hand’ look with this one. On me this one is just a real pretty beige. I would wear this to a job interview, wedding, funeral, those types of things and feel completely comfortable and pulled together.
For my friend Diane, 💗I almost chose Essie’s Buy Me a Cameo. This too is a pretty beige but with a frost. I didn’t like the way it looked on my shorter nails, plus I knew she would be wearing it and rocking it, so….

20120805-192758.jpg. I could not compete with that! 💅
Believe it or not, I seldom get compliments on my nails. My mom always wants to see what color I have on and she will always say they are beautiful, comments left on my YT videos are usually complimentary about my nails, but in my real day to day life, I very seldom get a compliment, or even a geesh, what were you thinking about THaT color kind of comment. I’m not bringing this up for you to all leave comments complimenting my nails, you all know me better than that. But the reason I go into all this is I have received so many comments and compliments on this polish. The 20 something kid at the gas station, the guy on the boat dock loading his boat onto a trailer, the woman at the grocery store, my neighbor guy, and even my dad. And the girl at the Estée Lauder counter and at TJMaxx today all said they loved this polish and the women all wanted to know the name of it. So I think this is a winner, winner chicken dinner.🐔 (you know I just wanted to use the chicken icon, right?)
Anyway, this weeks 50 Shades of Sunday© goes to Dress Me Up from China Glaze, from the Hunger Games Collection released Spring 2012.

Omg, Big Brother is about to start. love that show. Thanks so much for stopping by. Mwahhhh!💋

Haute Look for Amazing Deals ~ A Nordstrom Company

HAUTELOOK is a Nordstrom company. They have a return policy that allows you to return items purchased online to be re- turned to their Rack stores. I have never had a bad experience shopping at Nordstrom nor HAUTELOOK. I HGHLY RECOMMEND BOTH STORES. Be sure to go to Hautelook on Monday Dec 1st To see what great deals they will have on butter LONDON polish. Butter LONDON is a mid-priced polish with a high end quality. I'll see you there, bright and early! http://www.hautelook.com/short/3Bg7v

Nail Polish of the Month!

For me the Polish of the Month has to be CHANEL, with their new formula that I happen to love. I'm not thrilled with the color choices and I'd like to know where I'm supposed to get a new bottle of May , which will be empty soon? you can find CHANEL polish at www.chanel.com or my favorite place on earth: Nordstrom www Nordstrom.com

Betty’s Blog

I have been a busy dog because my Mom has this new seizure disorder and its up to me to keep her home when she needs to. I also let her know when it's time to take me for my walk, my neighbors like me too.
My mom won't let me leave the yard but the other day I had to wake mom up and take her outside so she could call 911 for the neighbor lady who was having a heart attack. The firemen tried to take me with them but my mom, and I,, both said no.
It's starting to warm up and we have lots of birds and squirrels,. My mom doesn't like me chasing the squirrels, or the birds because we have a nest in one of the trees. She said we have to be quiet. Maybe I can send you a pic of the baby birds? I'll try.
Have a happy spring, my mom and are going to!
Love, Betty
