50 Shades of Sunday ~ Queen Vic butter London

Posted on: September 16, 2012

For those of you new to my blog, welcome! This is a series I do every Sunday. It’s where I use a polish from my collection that I have never worn, for whatever reason. It’s a way for me to use my polish, not just look at it, but wear it. I hope this inspires you to take a look at your collection and maybe wear one you haven’t. You’d be surprised at the gem you might find!

This is Queen Vic from Butter London. This is from their A/W 2012 collection. The PR firm for Butter London was kind enough to send me some polish for my review. Thank you for sending these. I really appreciate. I am not being paid for writing this review, all opinions are my own. The following picture is what was sent to me. Again, thank you.

From left to right, Lovely Jubbly, Queen Vic (my fave), Trustafarian and Bumster. Queen Vic and Bumster are cream finishes, while Trustafarian is described as a glitter holo, and Lovely Jubbly is straight up glitter.

The shine is amazing from the Lovely Jubbly.

Trustafarian is described as a light green micro glitter holo. It does have micro glitter, the same effect as All Hail the Queen, however I do not see any holo effect with this polish. The color is more like a celery green and is not flattering for my skin tone. I don’t know what skin tone this would flatter, to be honest. It is an odd color.

Bumster is a nice nude and it has a matching Lippy. Sometimes I’m in the mood for the matching lips to tips, so this is nice to have. Nude is very big this fall, so if you don’t have a nude this would be a good one. It is a very flat nude, not much dimension to it, but it does have just enough color to keep the mannequin hand thing at bay.

As stated earlier, Queen Vic is my favorite of this group. It was smooth, easy to apply, dried relatively fast, and I love this color. You all know I’m not big into glitter but this Lovely Jubbly is gorgeous and I do like it as an accent nail. When the sun hits it, it is stunning.
I also like the Lippy. It does have a weird taste, but let’s be honest don’t all lip glosses? It is a little in the sticky side but that is what makes it a long wearing lip gloss. Once you work through the sticky-ness it does last a good long time. Just remember to not taste it and you will like it too!

So, that is this installation of 50 Shades of Sunday. Have you found a polish in your collection that you had never worn and decided to try it? If so, let me know in the comments. I love getting comments and as always, I appreciate your feedback. Thanks for stopping by.

This is me circa 1976-79. Amazing how I look EXACTLY the same today! Ha!

Betty’s Blog

I have been a busy dog because my Mom has this new seizure disorder and its up to me to keep her home when she needs to. I also let her know when it's time to take me for my walk, my neighbors like me too.
My mom won't let me leave the yard but the other day I had to wake mom up and take her outside so she could call 911 for the neighbor lady who was having a heart attack. The firemen tried to take me with them but my mom, and I,, both said no.
It's starting to warm up and we have lots of birds and squirrels,. My mom doesn't like me chasing the squirrels, or the birds because we have a nest in one of the trees. She said we have to be quiet. Maybe I can send you a pic of the baby birds? I'll try.
Have a happy spring, my mom and are going to!
Love, Betty
