Join me in wearing pink nail polish for the rest of the month. In support of the American Cancer Society’s campaign of Breast Cancer Awareness month. As you all know, October is breast cancer awareness month. I think this campaign is brilliant and I love that the cosmetics industry is on board with it. I look forward to October because there are always limited edition sets where some of the proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research. Any time I see a lipstick in a color made for this campaign and I know part of the $$$ will go to the BCR, I will always buy it. Whether I like the color or not.
But more about the BCR later, what’s on my nails today?
Today I am wearing Heel d’Orsay from Venique. This is such a pretty pink, it is almost the same color of pink used in the campaign. I plan on wearing a pink nail polish for the rest of the month in support of this great campaign and also as a way to honor those who have lost their battle with this terrible disease. We all know someone who have lost the battle and I think this will be a small way I can play a part to help the ACS fight this terrible disease.
Pink is my favorite color, as you can see I won’t have to look far for a great pink polish this month!
I hope you will join me and wear pink nail polish for the rest of October!
This is the home page for the American Cancer Society. If you have any questions or need any help please go to their site here.. On the left hand side of the page they have a map of the US, if you click on that map it will give you resources for your community. If you need a mammogram but cannot pay for one, they will help, or if you have time on your hands and you want to volunteer, there are plenty of opportunities to put your talents to good use. One my friends is a make up artist and she will go to the hospital a couple days a week to do the make up for women suffering, not only from cancer but other illnesses. Another friend of mine is a retired carpenter and he goes to the homes of those afflicted and will do whatever repairs are needed. He also builds wheel chair ramps for people in wheel chairs. One of my accountant friends does the taxes and helps patients in understanding their medical bills. So, whatever your talent may be, some one can use your services! Yes, it is volunteering and you don’t get paid with a check, but the feeling you get from volunteering cannot be bought. π
Can you tell I feel strong about this cause? I really do and from the bottom of my heart I hope you never need the help of this great organization, and from the bottom of my heart I hope you never lose a loved one from this terrible disease. As you all know my friend Kathy passed away in July from a very rare form of cancer. I received a text message from my ex the other day and I quote “It’s an emptiness”.
I will leave you with that, as always thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to wear your pink nail polish!

I will be wearing pink all month, that’s the least I can do.
Sounds like you have some wonderful friends.
By the way, I love the colour of Heel d’Orsay.

Love your stash of pink polishes! It’s such a powerful and awesome colour. I guess Chanel Boa will be my first pink pick for October. π
