50 Shades of Sunday~ CND Asphalt

Posted on: November 11, 2012

For those who are new to my blog, every Sunday I wear a polish from my collection that I have never worn before. I don’t have an enormous amount of polish, but I do have quite a few that haven’t been worn. I do not want to hoard nail polish, I do not want to collect nail polish, I want to wear my polish, and this helps me to do that.

It has been a busy week end! Today I decided to go with the Asphalt from CND. I tried to wear this with my “Cougars” manicure but it was not the right color of gray. I think it is pretty and I like this color. It comes off more blue in the pics, than it really is.
I love this formula! It is not too thick, not too thin, but just right. It goes on smoothly, dries fast and covers great with 1 coat.

My friend Indy sent these 2 bottles of CND. I haven’t seen them for sale in my area, I’m sure you can find them on Amazon. I would like to have more of this brand because it is a nice polish. Even with 1 coat, my nails feel really strong and I think they look great! Thanks again, Indy! She always finds the best polish!

And then this happened! A couple of weeks ago my thumb nail broke, about half way down my thumb. I have been baby-ing it, trying to keep it covered with Nail Envy, but yesterday it started catching on everything. Then last night it finally ripped half off so I went ahead and took the rest off. That is what my nails used to look like! Luckily my nails grow fast, so it won’t be long until it is back to normal!

💅As always thanks for stopping by! Tell me, do you have a lot of polish you haven’t worn?

You have probably talked about this subject before, but I have been unable to find out where… What is the shelf life of nail polish? I have several that are years old and they look , smell, and go on just fine. Google searches say 2 years and I find that a bit difficult to swallow. I am enjoying your channel and blog very much. Thank you.

This is a good question, I haven’t talked about this before. On each nail polish bottle there is a small icon of a jar that has a number, the number is the number of months you should use the polish within. Most of mine say 36, a few say 38. The nail Envy says 24. I have one duo-chrome from the UK that says 18. Maybe the duo-chrome wont be effective after 18 months? I really don’t know but I think if a polish is fine as far as the formula and goes on okay it is okay to use. I do know the ingredients and chemicals used to make nail polish and I do not believe any bacteria can form in those chemicals. I also think the marking of the months is a CYA (cover your ass) move on the part of the cosmetics company. I just started painting my nails on my own about a year ago so I really don’t have any polish that is very old, yet. Thanks for asking,mi wish I knew the answer. Hope you have a great week! Xoxo

Betty’s Blog

I have been a busy dog because my Mom has this new seizure disorder and its up to me to keep her home when she needs to. I also let her know when it's time to take me for my walk, my neighbors like me too.
My mom won't let me leave the yard but the other day I had to wake mom up and take her outside so she could call 911 for the neighbor lady who was having a heart attack. The firemen tried to take me with them but my mom, and I,, both said no.
It's starting to warm up and we have lots of birds and squirrels,. My mom doesn't like me chasing the squirrels, or the birds because we have a nest in one of the trees. She said we have to be quiet. Maybe I can send you a pic of the baby birds? I'll try.
Have a happy spring, my mom and are going to!
Love, Betty
