Deborah Lippmann Naked, that is! I was sent this by a very sweet blogger friend of mine Indie at GirlieReview a few months ago. I didn’t have a chance to wear it because my adorable daughter borrowed it almost immediately after I received it. But one of the many reasons I adore my daughter, she always returns things she “borrows”. So today I am Naked. I must say I’m a bit dis-appointed with this polish. I know nudes are streaky and a pain in the ass to work with, but somehow I didn’t expect that from a Deborah Lippmann polish. Essie yes, definitely, Essie has a crappy formula on most of their polishes. There I said it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. ( I’ve just given the NB’ers another reason to take pot shots at me.). Whatever .

Naked by Deborah Lippmann is the perfect mannequin hand look for me. This is exactly what I will wear to job interviews or funerals. I’ll probably be attending more funerals than job interviews but this is a great nude for me. The pictures are all 2 plus coats with a topcoat of Seche-Vite and although it doesn’t show up in the photos, I can see a bit of VNL but for some reason it isn’t bothering me. Which as most of you know is unusual for me. Maybe because this is such a good nude for my skin tone?
I was tempted to give this a 4/5 but that was because of my expectations being high because of the brand, when this polish actually deserves a 3/5. I cannot lie to you. If you are looking for a great nude I like L’Oreal walk on the beach, and Sally Hansen has a Limited Edition that just hit the stores this week end called Dune. Both retail for under $8 and can be found at most drug stores.
If you see the display for the Limited Edition Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicures Designer colors look for a pad of $2 off coupons. My Rite Aid has SH on a buy one get 50% off, plus they took the $2 coupon so the 2 new ones I bought were $7, total for both. Score!

My son Drew and me. He puts up with his old mother squeezing him every chance I get! He is cute and such a good son, I’m a lucky woman!

This is going to be short and sweet. This is what I replaced OPI’s My Private Jet with:

These are all Barry M polish not all new, some I have had for a while. My friend Nicky who lives in Ireland sent me Peach Melba quite a while ago but it unfortunately broke open and the whole box was covered in Peach Melba. Nicky does such a great job of wrapping each polish though so no other polishes were damaged. She was kind enough to send me another bottle, in tact! Thank you again Nicky, for all the Barry M you have sent me over the past couple of years.

I hope you are all having a great Sunday, it is another beautiful day here β˜€

I love my blog because when I receive comments from trolls who obviously don’t read my blog, I can send them right to the trash and then there is a button that says delete permanently. The fun part is sending them to the trash. No, I haven’t deleted permanently as I like knowing who the trolls are. I like knowing the IP address of where these comments come from. I like having their email addresses, because who knows some day I may want to send them a comment. I can promise any comment I would send would have all the words spelled correctly. 😊

Mostly I love my blog for all the comments from the nice people who actually take the time to read it. It isn’t perfect, my pictures certainly aren’t perfect, but they are my pictures, and I’m not perfect. But my readers are a perfect bunch of nice men and women who love nail polish as much as I do.

Yes, my number has gone up even though the premise of the Nail Polish Lottery Club is to use our un-tried polish! I have received some PR samples this week and I have done a bit of purchasing myself, Barry M anyone? For more information about #NPLClub please check out or Facebook page. You can find it here. We would love to have you!
This is Week 12 already and the number generated by random.org was 97. On my list that was:

My Private Jet by OPI . I have had this for a long time and really I don’t know why I bought it? It is a chocolate brown with an obvious copper shimmer with some blue and white micro glitters. Just looking at it on the nails it is very much reminiscent of You Don’t Know Jacques or any other brown polish.

This is outside in full sunlight. Again, not very exciting. The formula was typical OPI formula, which is one reason I like OPI, I like consistency in formulas, it was very smooth easy to apply. As this is supposed to be a holographic I did let it dry completely between 2 coats. All photos are 2 coats with a top coat of Seche-Vite.

In the lightbox photo you can see a bit of the micro glitter. It is a pretty polish when the sun hits it just right but of course I could not capture that.
I did Google this polish to try to find out what collection it was from but was un-able to find out any information on this other than it is supposed to be a HTF (Hard to Find) polish. I did not check eBay or Amazon but I’m sure it is probably available there. It is not available any more through the distributor I work with. I’m not sure if it is still part of OPI’s core collection or if it has been discontinued. Sorry, I’m not much help. I am not crazy about this polish, this will not be in my regular rotation of polishes I wear; so if any of you have been wanting this particular polish just let me know in the comments. I’m sure we can work something out.

On a personal note, I wanted to show this picture of my little town at night. My town is on the left of the river, across the river is Washington State. I like my little town, especially today, it has been one of those perfect spring days. The windows are open, I can hear my neighbors talking, kids playing, Betty is asleep at my feet snoring, it’s good to be alive today! I hope you are having a great day! Time to get some much needed house work done!

I picked this polish up recently because of my friend Jeanette’s blog The-Swatchaholic who, btw, takes the best photos of nail polish. Because of her great photos I picked up this one from the China Glaze Holographic Collection.

Strap on Your Moonboots from the China Glaze Holographic Collection is not so much of a holographic but it is a pretty blue polish with lots of interest.

I could not capture the holo effect with my pitiful excuse for a camera, but I also did not see a holo effect with mine own eyes. So, with the holographic portion of the program out of the way, this is a pretty polish. The formula was smooth, went on evenly. One tip I learned from Jeanette’s blog is to always let each coat dry when using a holo polish. I have found that tip to be very helpful for me with other holos.
The China Glaze Holographic Collection retail for $14 each, but you can find them on Amazon for less, and also Sally’s often have sales so if you likes this polish, please look for it on sale.. I do not believe it is a $14 bottle of polish.
That being said for some amazingly stunning pictures of this polish please visit The Swatchaholic. You will love her pictures. I am always trying to make my pictures better, I know mine will never be as good as hers but it gives me something to strive for.

I haven’t really done my Easter mani yet, and I need to do my Week 12 for the #NPLClub, so these are some pics that maybe will inspire you for your Easter mani. Or if you don’t celebrate Easter, just some pretty Spring colors!

Flamingo by Gosh.. This is a UK brand but I think it’s also available in Canada. Love this brand but also love the bright pink!

Twisted Pink from Sally Hansen Extreme Wear

Pacific Blue from Sally Hansen Extreme Wear

May Flowers from Flower, Drew Barrymore’s line

Fruit Machine from butter LONDON’s Sweetie Shop Collection. This was provided to me as a PR sample

OPI Can’t Find My Czechbook with Polka.com as accent/strong>

CHANEL Skyline

Azure by Sally Hansen. This was provided to me as a PR sample

Gray Suede from Revlon

I hope this may have given you an idea for an Easter/Spring manicure! Let me know what you are wearing this week end. And of course, you know I’ll be showing mine, just as soon as I can get it done!

As you all know I love Barry M nail polish. I am so thankful for my UK friends for sending me so much that I have a great collection of Barry M nail paints. I’m often asked about swaps, or if I know of websites to be able to purchase Barry M nail polish.
I ordered these 6 polishes On Monday evening and received them Thursday afternoon, from the UK. The cost was very reasonable, including shipping they were less than $10 a bottle. I will do more posts and swatches soon, I promise. I just wanted you to know about this. Finally I can recommend a site to purchase Barry M nail paints, go here. The only thing is be prepared to use your PayPal card as my regular bank debit didn’t work. I don’t think they would do the rate conversion from pounds to dollars but Pay Pal does.
I just received an email from Barry M use the code SPRING15 at checkout for an additional 15% off! Yay!

Let me know if you decide to order any, I’d love to know what you pick up.

πŸ’… As always, thanks for stopping by.
