Mint Me Up by Catrice
For Week 25 of the Nail Polish Lottery Club the random number drawn was 364. I used the number 13, an alternate number. That’s what gave me this Catrice: Mint Me Up. This was sent sent to me by a friend who lives in Germany. I’d been dying to try and there it was #13 on my list of un-trieds.
Mint Me Up is a very soft blue mint color with a golden shimmer/sheen. It seems to have copper pieces of glitter and also some silver pieces of micro glitter. For me Catrice polishes have always been a one coat polish and this one was no exception. They come in bottles of .33ounce, which I think is a perfect size, the brush is smaller a bit pudgier and flatter than most, but I like the brush a lot. I like this polish a lot and wore for a few days. Carla, my friend that sent this to me said in Germany this was supposed to be like butter London’s Two Fingered Salute, which it is nothing like. BL is more green and the copper shimmer is much larger, Mint Me Up is more of a blue green with copper and silver micro glitter.

Mint Me Up is a pretty color for this time of year. I got lots of nice compliments on it and enjoyed wearing it. I was so happy to see this on line 13 for Week 25 of the Nail Polish Lottery Club. I have a few Catrice polish as they are made in Luxembourg. I don’t know where they would be available here except maybe Amazon or Ninja polish. I’ve ordered from Amazon before with no problems but I’ve never ordered from Ninja Polish but I know a lot of people who have and recommend it.
If you have a chance to buy a Catrice polish, I would recommend you do. The few I have are great. The formula is smooth, generally covers with 1coat, dries fast and wears well. I give Mint Me Up 5/5 stars.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and thanks again to my friend for sending to me.

On a personal note, my Dad’s birthday was June 25th. On June 23rd he had another heart attack, they added 4 more stints to his heart, he was in ICU for 2 days. He was released the 25th and my Mom was admitted with a blockage. The Doctor said he had to operate so they operated and then her lungs filled with fluid and she is on a respirator. My sister called me at 3AM to tell me this, the,day before I start my new job. She was in Washington, DC when they called her. So I went to the hospital and poor MoM, she only weighs about 80 pounds to begin with, she looked pretty frail. But we have been through this before and we will get through this one, it was touch and go, minute by minute all week but I think she is out of the woods now. I’m headed over there to read with her, she can’t talk but I know she likes having me there. I am off work today so it will be a good day. It has really warmed up here and Betty has parked herself in front of the fan, smart girl!
I hope you all have a great week!

πŸ’… As always, thanks for stopping by!

Berlin There, Done That by OPI is from their Germany collection for Spring/summer 2012. It directly followed the Holland Collection. I love this color on me,I think it goes great with my skin tone. The formulas was smooth, easy to work with, dries fast and lasted a couple of days before I got bored with it. You know I must really like this clor because I have so many of this same color:

butter Londonβ„’ is a great example of this brownish mushroom color I like.

Berlin There, Done That by OPI is more of a brown tone, more like Pascha from Zoya. From the Berlin collection I also got Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue and Suzi & the 7 Dussedorfs. From those, BTDT, is worn probably the most. It’s an easy color for me to wear. I can’t compare this with SH CSM C in C, because it hasn’t any gray-ish purple to it. It does compare to Essie sand Tropez, just a lot darker brown than the Essie one. See why we women need so many polishes! It’s hard sometimes to just pick one.
That’s another reason I love The Nail Polish Lottery Club every Monday a polish is picked for me to wear, I don’t even have to think! Anyone can belong, just go to Facebook and type in the nailpolishlotteryclub and bob’s your uncle, you’re in!

the Cabbage patch Kids. Remember these?

πŸ’…As always, thanks for stopping by.

Toff from butter Londonβ„’ is my pick as one of my favorite butter London polishes. It’s just such a great color but yet it’s a neutral, which I like those kinds of shades. You could wear Toff with absolutely anything and anywhere. Also, butter Londonβ„’ has made a matching Lippy for Toff, which just doubles my pleasure!

The 2 together is a win/win as far as I’m concerned. Just one more reason I named butter Londonβ„’ as thePolish of the Month for June 2013.

What’s your favorite butter London? I had a hard time picking today because this will be the last day for BL as Polish of the Month. You all know I love Two Fingered Salute so much I’ve used almost half the bottle, and I Love Yummy Mummy along with All Hail the Queen so you can see why it was a tough choice but I forget about Toff and I think it deserves more love. πŸ’œ so that is how I made my choice for today. I still haven’t decided for Polish of the Month for July 2013, guess I’d better get on that!

πŸ’… As always, thanks for stopping by!

This is Week 24 for the Nail Polish Lottery Club and the number drawn was 61. Thanks to my friend Carla, I’ll explain more later, this is my result for this week:

Manahttan Mode Pilot Blogger’s Edition, the name is Walk on Tverskaya. I was also told by my friend Carla, this is supposed to be a dupe for Dior Orchid. I haven’t looked that up yet, but I thought that was an interesting fact to share. If you’ve never heard of this brand, you are not alone, this is a European brand, made in Luxembourg. I think it is stunningly beautiful. This is 1 coat, and I am wishing I’d done 2 coats but I still love it. This polish went on like a dream, dried in a snap, once again a great polish only available in other countries! What is up with that? Manhattan nail polish joins my list of polishes I love from other countries, like Barry M, Catrice, Max Factor, Nfu-Oh, Nubar, and the list goes on!
How did I get my hands on this? Another blogger Carla sent this to me because I’d sent her some CHANEL she had been looking for. (She lives in a Germany). Carla’s blog is great and I hope you check it out. She has quite the collection of not only CHANEL, but older Dior, & YSL. I’d love to see just her CHANEL polishes in a picture, hint, hint. I’ve already hinted enough to her about that.

These are the polishes she sent to me. I was dying to try this Manhattan polish and after adding to my list, it was #61! My lucky day. I went online to read about the company, they have a full line of cosmetics and this Manhattan Mode Pilot was a special project they were working in for Fall 2012.

(This is not my photo, I nabbed from their web site)
I love this polish, it is very lady like in my opinion and for some reason I am feeling lady like today, at least on my nails.

Manhattan Mode Pilot Blogger’s Edition
The bottle size is 11ml. No ounces listed but OPI are 15ml or .5 ounces, for a reference point. I haven’t checked eBay or Amazon but I bet you can find this polish at either of those sites. If you do come across Manhattan polish, don’t hesitate, it’s a great polish. thanks so much, Carla.
When I get time, I am going to add another coat because I believe I will be wearing this for a while. It is that pretty.

πŸ’… As always, thanks for stopping by.

I did add a second coat, I really like this polish, it may be a while before I change it. Yea right, we all know that my meaning of in a while, is really more like in a couple of days! 😘

My heart has been broken many times, many ways. I guess when you live a full life as i have, part of that living is having our heart broke.

(this picture was a screen shot from The Sopranos. I did not take this picture.)
A piece of my heart was broke again today when I heard the news that James Gandolfini died. He’s gone. Who is going to come to get me and take me away from all of this? Regis Philben?

Midnight in New York by Sally Hansen CSM is a black cream with the tiniest micro glitter I’ve ever seen. I always look through my loupe when trying a new color for the first time and this one has multi colored micro glitters, but in person and in the pictures it looks like a smooth black, shiny cream finish. I think this is a perfect polish to show my respect for James Gandolfini. I have never wore a black polish before but somehow I felt this was the right thing to do in his honor.

Midnight in New York went on smooth, coverage was great, these pics are 2 coats with 1 coat of a topcoat. I did not use a base coat with this polish, I did however use an “undie” or a polish that covered the nail and the VNL befor applying Midnight in New York. It’s a great polish, it’s a great formula, I like the color and if it stops raining in a day or 2 maybe someone besides me will see the multi colored micro glitter in this polish. There are white, silver, red, green, turquoise, orange, yellow, you name a color,it’s a micro glitter in this bottle.
For my first time wearing a black polish, this is a pretty one. I’ll miss James Gandolfini
very much, as I always went to whatever he was in. My favorite? I loved his role in The Mexican. RIP James, RIP.

Today is the first day on my new job. Everyone, and I mean everyone told me to wear a soft, neutral polish. Nothing bright, nothing weird is how one of my friends put it. But, of course I knew that, there will be time for the bright and weird later. Once my new employer and co-workers get to know me, which you know they will come to LOVE me! Ha!

Go With the Flow-er from Flower Cosmetics by Drew Barrymore couldn’t be a better choice for today and the name goes along with my situation as well. I bought this polish on one of my rare trips to Walmart. Flower Cosmetics are only sold at Walmart. That takes a star away instantly because you all know how I feel about Walmart. Anyway, I like this color, it does give me the mannequin hand look which is what I wanted for today. The formula was smooth, the brush was nice, picked up just the right amount of polish. I like the little square bottles. This pic is 2 coats with a top coat of Seche-Vite. I believe I could have done 1 thicker coat for full coverage. I have nothing negative to say about this polish. I really like it, other than the Walmart factor. I give this polish 4/5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Cosmo-Politan from Flower Cosmetics by Drew Barrymore. This is the only other Flower nail polish I have. I bought quite a few initially but I have sent some of them to friends who I knew would like the polish and did not have access to Walmart . I like this, it’s a perfect pink for me.
Flower Cosmetics say on their packaging they would never test on animals yet there are no bunny symbols, I would like to see the Leaping Bunny symbol on these cosmetics if that statement is true. I do not believe just because it’s printed on their label that it may actually be true, however they are made in our great country. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Wish me luck on my new job. The next week will be spent learning their computer so I can dress however I want but I’m still going to dress professionally. I have wanted to work for this particular company for a very long time and could not be more happy. πŸ˜‰

πŸ’… As always, thanks so much for stopping by and remember to Keep Calm and Paint Your Nails!

Anyone who has read more than 10 posts of my little blog here knows my very favorite polish of them all is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander in Chic. When SH reformulated the CSM line they also re-numbered and the newer ones with the same number as the older ones, meant the older ones were kaput! I know that was a very confusing sentence, so let me break it down: my fave C in C was #370, in the new line they had a #370 that was not C in C, meaning C in C was dis-continued. I emailed SH for a confirmation of what I’d surmised and they said yes if a color from the new line had a number from the old line, the old one was DC’d. πŸ˜‘πŸ’”
But then, an angel named Coco appeared with a new bottle of Commander in Chic, #290

πŸ‘Ό My angel of a friend sent me not 1, not 2, not even 3 but 7 bottles of the new re-formulated Commander in Chic! So now I have a lifetime supply of Commander in Chic and will most surely be giving some of them away. I will give some away here on this blog, when I can get Rafflecopter figured out, so stay tuned. 7 bottles! Geesh!

Commander in Chic from Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure line re-formulated. It’s so much like a gel manicure, yet no gel! The new formula is smooth, easy to apply, and goes on like glass. I like the wide flat brush, it fits my nail beds perfect and makes application so easy. The CSM line does not require a base coat, so I did not use one. I did, however add a quick dry topcoat, just because I’m not very patient, but you don’t need to add a top coat. Part of the new formula is an added shine factor making my nails look like I have a gel manicure, without the gel. I love this new formula and you know I’m giving this one 5/5 stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
A big thank you to Coco, she also sent the OPI Give Me the Moon I posted about earlier. She has very good taste, or maybe she just knows me and what I like. She sent a couple other bottles of polish and they will be blogged, soon.
