Infidele from CHANEL is a kind of pink, kind of maroon, maybe a chocolate pink would be a good description of this color, as there is some brown to it, but by no means is it a brown nail polish. It’s a different color, and you know I like different. Different is good.. This is only 2 coats but I did something different this time. I layered a matte top coat between the layers of Infidele. Then I added a quick dry top coat. I don’t know if that made a difference but I know I usually need 3 coats to hide the VNL but this time I only have 2 coats. Anyway, I like it. What do you think?

The first picture was taken this morning outside, a beautiful morning today I might add. This photo was taken in the light box.
CHANEL Infidele was one of the trio of nail polishes released for Fashion’s Night Out 2013 and is no longer available. The other2 released for FNO 2013 were Provacation and Delicatasse. I was trying to find a link for you to purchase, if interested but I’m sure eBay and Amazon will have, for a lot more than the $27 I paid for it. CHANEL described Infidele as a carnation rose with undertones of mauve. That is a much better description than mine. Infidele also was formulated with a high shine finish so no top coat needed but I like the way mine looks with the sandwich of a matte top coat between layers.
The formula is classic CHANEL self leveling, easy to apply, dries pretty fast and gorgeous when on anyone’s nails. Can you tell I’m a total fan of CHANEL nail polish? That is why I started looking for dupes because not everyone can or will pay $27-30 for a nail polish. But some things are just worth it and for me, if its a unique color, it’s worth the price tag.

Infidele looks similar to some of my Revlon’s and I will try to see if any of them are a match. If they are, I will post here immediately.

This falls under the Things that Match My Manicure with this older Coach purse.
Do you have anything that would match this color? Or any of your manicures that match something, please send to me and I will post to my page Things that Match My Manicures, everyone is welcome to participate.

CHANEL May and Mega Last Candy-Licious are about as close in color for a CHANEL May that I have found. These are not exact and I am not calling this a ‘dead on dupe’ but they are very close. The camera picks up the differences much better then when just looking at the half & half manicure I did with these 2 polishes in person. CHANEL May is by far my favorite CHANEL polish I own. The bottle is below the half full point. 😁 May is one CHANEL I will re-purchase unless I can find a ‘dead on dupe’.

Candy-Licious from Mega Last line of Wet n Wild is painted on the pointer and middle finger. I hate the name Candy-Licious, doesn’t it sound like a stripper’s name? Even though the name isn’t my favorite the Mega Last line certainly is. Wet n Wild Mega Last was my number 1 nail polish from the Nail Polish by Brand comparison study I did last summer. It was a surprise to me, but I found out a lot of you have been fans of this line for a very long time. Who knew? The Mega Last polishes haven’t let me down.

May from CHANEL was released in the Spring collection of 2012. The collection included June and April as well. I have found a dupe for April Revlon Raisin Rage is a dupe for April, but that is the only one from that collection that i could call an actual dupe.
In this picture May is painted on my ring finger and pinky. I did use 3 thin coats for May to avoid the dreaded VNL, and for full disclosure I used 2 coats of Candy-Licious. No top coat was used.
Although Mega Last is a great polish for $2.99 and the color is so pretty, even though isn’t a dupe, it is so close I don’t think anyone would doubt you if you said it was May. But, honestly, in real life how often does anyone ask you what polish you are wearing? Not very often. I probably get asked more because I usually have at least 2 -3 different polishes on for testing purposes.
Using these 2 polishes side by side is a great way to test the quality of a polish. Of course the CHANEL can’t be beat by Mega Last quality wise. There is a reason people keep spending $27-30 for a bottle of CHANEL. The quality is awesome, a pure joy.
But if you are one of those people who refuse to spend that much but you like the look of May then the Mega Last in Candy-Licious is your girl.
SMACKDOWN Results: I have to say its a tie. If this was a SMACKDOWN for quality then, CHANEL hands down. If this was a SMACKDOWN for close enough to save $24-27 then MEGA LAST wins hands down.
What do you think? Who do you think should win the SMACKDOWN? Let me know in the comments below.

Don’t forget about my giveaway that closes soon! August 31st to be exact. Go to the giveaway post, you can search open giveaway, leave a comment, tell me your favorite brand of polish. I will organize all the names alphabetically and use random.org topics a winner. Good luck!

This is a well thought out, well written account of a notoriously fake nail “guru” who should be ashamed of herself. At the age of 29 she should know better, zenorah said it all and with complete honesty. Honesty and truth need to be introduced to MissJenFabulous. She wouldn’t know how to tell the truth. But read this blog post from Zenorah who is nothing but truthful. Also, read the link provided at the end. — Judi

Hi everyone, so this is going to be a very different blog entry – one can call it a rant and you’d be justified in doing so. Most nail polish gyals know of MissJenFabulous on Youtube due to her popularity of her nail art tutorials but that’s just it, they are NOT her nail art creations!! So this is where my rant begins but before I get into that I have to share with you the backdrop to this story….

About 5 years ago I discovered nail bloggers & it was an addiction of mine, I would check my email every day to see any and all of the nail polish / manicures / nail art designs they blogged about. I could sit and list all of them but it would take ages to do so because there are MANY of them, some of the more widely known ones are…

Queen Victoria Street from Nails, Inc is a green, and I mean green cream. I could have got by with 1 coat but I always use 2 coats and a quick dry top coat. This was a hard one to color adjust because it looked too blue but I think I came close to how green this is. While I had this on, at my neighborhood grocery store someone was buying a pack of menthol Pall Mall, that is the color of this polish. It was all I could do to keep from asking if I could take a photo of their cigs with my polish, but I reserved myself. Ha! Not something I do very often.

Queen Victoria Street is a nice polish as are all the Nails, Inc I’ve tried. I’m glad I found these on QVC.com in the clearance section. I got a set of 4 for $15 with free shipping. QVC is doing the same thing with the Sephora by OPI . I love QVC’s clearance section, that is the first place I go when I go to their site from Ebates, with ebates you get a portion of what you spend back, I think QVC is 2.5% but often times they will have a double cash back, I always go when they have the double cash back. How did this post become about QVC and Ebates?
Most of you know I love a cream finish polish, that is my favorite, glitter being my least favorite. The Nails, Inc. polish has a perfect cream finish with a high shine. You don’t really need a top coat but I usually use one because I’m the one painting my nails when I’m going to meet friends for lunch or on my way to do errands. I really liked this green polish, which was a surprise. I totally give Queen Victoria Street 5/5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. I haven’t tried a Nails, Inc. yet that I haven’t liked. The formula, bottle and brush are perfect. The bottle size is a bit smaller than normal, but I like that. Let me know if you pick up sme of the Nails, Inc polish on sale at QVC, but remember to use the Ebates link first!

Lick-o-rich by Sally Hansen Sugar Coat. This is a textured polish much like the OPI sand texture but better. I received this as a PR sample to review about a month ago but I put it off because I was worried I wouldn’t like it. Then I tried it. As I don’t care for the OPI sand texture or other texture polishes I’ve tried, I do like this one. Maybe it’s the black color, but it is so pretty and sparkle-y. I really like it. The pictures are 2 coats, no top coat.
Okay,I know what you’re all thinking, I like this one because it was sent as a sample. That couldn’t be further from the truth and those of you who know me and read my blog, if I didn’t like it,I would say so. But I do like it. I like it so much that now I will purchase it in other colors. Even though this black is awesome!

I’m trying to show how sparkle-y this one is in this shot, this is as good as I could get but tomorrow I will try to get a good shot in the sun. The sparkles show up so much more than the OPI sand textures I’ve tried, which is only 2, and I’ve only tried 1 of the Zoya Pixie Dust that I really dis-liked. That one I tried to top coat it to be pretty, but no luck.

Lick-o-rich from Sally Hansen is different from the other textured polishes I’ve tried. Sugar Coat is the perfect name, it seems like sugar has been poured into the polish bottle, I don’t see that in the other textures. Maybe that’s the difference? Either way the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat are a nice polish if you want to try the textured trend that doesn’t seem to be going away.

Raindrops by Illamasqua is certainly not new but for me it is. I’ve wanted this polish since it came out. I don’t know why I didn’t buy it then but I think this was on sale at Sephora.com so I bought it. I must say I don’t think this lives up to it’s hype, or maybe it didn’t live up to the hype in my head?

I used a low light setting trying to capture the Raindrops but really the only way I see them is through my loupe I use for jewelry. The Raindrops are there but you just can’t see them, so what’s the point?
I was lucky enough to live in Seattle 🎢 🍷 🐎 β˜”πŸ’ƒfor the better part of the 70’s and I love the rain, I thought a polish called Raindrops that actually had rain drops would be something I would love and adore. Not so much, this has left me feeling a bit deflated.

Raindrops from Illamasqua is a pretty dove gray with hints of blue, if you look real close, really close you will see speckles of white. If the base color was more gray at least it would reflect the skies of a normal Seattle day. Days in Seattle are not normally this blue. **big sigh**. I realize this is all my own misgivings and I had too high expectations for this polish. It is a good polish, formula is fine, no complaints about the brush or the bottle, and I do give Raindrops from Illmasqua 4/5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 I took a star away because the “raindrops” are so hard to see. **another big sigh**. I loved the time I lived in Seattle, I was young, πŸ‘ΆI had a great job, lots of friends, lots of boy friendsπŸ‘₯πŸ‘₯ My 20’s were so much fun and that’s what I wanted from this bottle of polish. Lets bring some F-U-N back to polish! It just ain’t gonna happen with this one.
As a side note, if you are ever in Seattle, the people with umbrellas are tourists. Seattlites do not carry umbrellas, I never owned one the whole time I lived there, trench coats yes, umbrellas no. I did have several Burberry trench coats with button in hoods I would use if I had a particularly good hair day going that day, but other than that, no umbrellas.

Me and a boyfriend in Seattle in about 1976-77? This was one of my favorite boyfriends and I would eat Thanksgiving with his family, they were so much fun. Okay, I’m done with my trip down memory lane of the 70’s. most of you probably weren’t even born then. Now I feel old! Not really! You never feel old, only if you decide to. Right? Right!

HPCIG = How Pink Can I Go?

Bright Pink, Fuschia and Strawberry I/C from Barry M. I’m a bit obsessed with the Tri-color manicure here lately. The only problem is, I can’t take a proper picture of the whole manicure by myself so thank you Ashley for being my photographer! You did good. With the Tri-color manicure the only nails that are different are the middle and pointer fingers. The rest are the same. The thumbs are painted using the same color, the ring fingers have the same color etc… It reminds me of my half & half manicure that I love (and I can photograph myself) but this one has been more interesting for me this summer.
You all know I adore and worship Barry M Nail Paints! I love every bottle I have and I treasure each one. Most of them were sent to me by good friends in the UK, which makes them even more special. Besides all that, Barry M is a great nail polish. They are a drugstore brand but you’d never know it. I am always amazed at the quality of this polish. And my nails feel stronger, Nicky told me they do add a nail hardener in their polish so that is why.

I have one spice rack that all my Barry M fit on perfectly, it’s my favorite polish rack to look at! I know, I’m a bit obsessed. I do have to remove this great manicure today because I have some new polish to show you but at least I have the pictures thanks to my beautiful Ashley!😘
