Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ Week 32 ~ Essie

Posted on: August 17, 2013

This is Week 32 of the Nail Polish Lottery Club. I am not going to do a video this week because I just am not up to it. I am having a problem that is an “edema” something that started with my feet swelling up to the size of what felt like watermelons, but now my stomach feels like I swallowed a whole watermelon and it is showing on my fingers. Those of you paying close attention will notice the puffiness of my fingers. The Dr. put me on a water pill months ago and she told me to double the dosage and to drink lots of water. Which I have and do. I quit drinking Pepsi during Lent (because I could not STOP buying nail polish, so anyway that’s my story for this week and why I’m not making a video. Hopefully I will feel better next week. If I still have you, after all this talk of how I don’t feel so good yay! This week’s color is awesome!

I bought this so long ago,I don’t even remember but it’s Armed and Ready from Essie. And yes, the formula was not a hit, it was a bit goopy but that could be from me having it so long and not using or it’s just the “Forest Gump” effect of Essie polishes. They’re like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. I worked this one until I was satisfied and I think they turned out beautiful. I did have to start over on a couple of nails and I cleaned the brush really good with acetone to make sure nothing was sticking to the brush and that helped a lot, believe it or not.

I liked Armed and Ready a lot and I know I will wear it again, especially this fall and winter buti think its an all year round polish. Really, except for neon brights don’t you think all polishes are for year round? I really don’t think there are rules anymore about polish. I think if you want to wear Armed and Ready during the summer go for it. It has an interesting gold shimmer that transfers a bit to the nail. When the sun hits it just right it really is stunning. You can see the shimmer in the bottle, it’s a slight one, I don’t think it was meant to be so noticeable, but it is gorgeous in my opinion. And since this is my blog that’s the only opinion that matters, right? So not right, but I had my moment! Of course all of your opinions is what really matters.

Armed and Ready from Essie gets 3/5 stars from me. 🌟🌟🌟. I took away a star simply because its an Essie and it lived up to my “Forest Gump” therory, and I took a star or 2 away because I had to WORK to make this manicure look so pretty. It did turn out stunning though don’t you think?
You can find Essie nail polishes at most drug stores, Rite Aid, K-Mart and Walgreens have them in my town and they are $8. Which is not a high end polish by any stretch of the imagination, but still for $8 a bottle can we please have a little bit of consistency with the formula? I guess it IS consistent, consistent “Forest Gump” style.

For more information about the Nail Polish Lottery Club please go to Facebook and type NailPolishLotteryClub in the search bar and it will take you to our page. There you can see everyone’s great photos, blog posts, you tube videos, etc., if you want to join but are hesitant about a new commitment, don’t worry, even if you only post once in a while we’d still love to have you. My friend Diana who lives in London came up with this great idea to use up our un-tried polishes. She had about 24 at the time, I had about 184 at the time, so I thought it was a great idea and we just kind of ran with it and we are so pleased by the response and have met some very nice people. Thanks to everyone who supports the #NPLClub, we appreciate it so much. Every Monday a new number will be drawn, it will be tweeted and posted on the FB page right away. That’s the fun part getting the new number and seeing which one it will be this week . I was so happy to have finally got to use this one. If you have any questions, just ask me in the comments below.

💅 As always, thanks for stopping by!

Oh, Judi…I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling well. Love that essie color on you and I agree about there being no rules in terms of polish color! There might be some colors I tend to wear at certain times, but it has more to do with my mood than what season it is – lol! I hope your re-check at the doctor goes well tomorrow. ♥

Betty’s Blog

I have been a busy dog because my Mom has this new seizure disorder and its up to me to keep her home when she needs to. I also let her know when it's time to take me for my walk, my neighbors like me too.
My mom won't let me leave the yard but the other day I had to wake mom up and take her outside so she could call 911 for the neighbor lady who was having a heart attack. The firemen tried to take me with them but my mom, and I,, both said no.
It's starting to warm up and we have lots of birds and squirrels,. My mom doesn't like me chasing the squirrels, or the birds because we have a nest in one of the trees. She said we have to be quiet. Maybe I can send you a pic of the baby birds? I'll try.
Have a happy spring, my mom and are going to!
Love, Betty
