My Favorite Revlon ~ Polish of the Month

Posted on: October 1, 2013

280 Blue Slate from Revlon Colorstay. The name says it all when describing this color, Blue Slate is the perfect name for this polish. It is a slate blue which to me is a bit of a dusty blue. It may have a bit of gray mixed in, but however one describes it, it is a pretty color. But you all know how much I like me some blue nail polish. 😍

I bought 280 Blue Slate a while ago with the intention of sending it to my friend Diana but then the whole thing about the Royal Mail getting so picky about what can and what cannot be mailed threw that plan out the window. (πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ A note to Diana: I have 6-7 others that originally had your name on them but I’m a good girl and will keep them for myself or find a new home for them πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ)
However tempting it may be to try to send out of the country, I will refrain. I know Revlon is Diana’s favorite brand of polish and I believe it is expensive in the UK.
This is my first time wearing this color, and I can honestly say, it won’t be my last. I haven’t used the Revlon Colorstay line before and I’m curious if it will hold up as advertised. I will keep you posted on that.

The formula is on the thick side but in no way un-manageable. These pictures are with 1 coat. The coverage was so great I saw no need for a second coat. I did use Seche-Vite as a quick dry top coat. Only because I have no patience. The bottle is round, very stable and the brush was easy to work with. Revlon Colorstay can be found at most drugstores, heck even my grocery store Albertson’s carries a full line of Revlon products. The Colorstay lines sells for $4.99-$5.99 each. There are often times coupons attached to the rack, or if you shop at Walgreen’s be sure to ask your clerk for any coupons as they usually have some in a drawer. These are a few of the things that are important to me in a polish and because Revlon Colorstay passed my requirements for an easy application, smooth formula, and affordable I happily give 280 Blue Slate 5/5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I know to some of you Revlon seems like an old fashioned company but I can assure you they are not. If you are on Twitter (JudiT4029) be sure to follow Gucci Westman and Ryan Lanji. Ryan is a curator of a museum called Nailaphelia (sp) and also was the man behind Revlon’s recent 80th birthday bash. Gucci Westman is a renowned make up artist who can work for any make up company out there and she chose Revlon. Even if you think Revlon is out dated and old fashioned, these 2 people are not. They are the pulse of what is happening in the fashion world. Ryan is especially a fun one to follow on Twitter because he posts a lot of pictures that are interesting. To me any way. 😎

πŸ‘‘ As always, thanks for stopping by!

Betty’s Blog

I have been a busy dog because my Mom has this new seizure disorder and its up to me to keep her home when she needs to. I also let her know when it's time to take me for my walk, my neighbors like me too.
My mom won't let me leave the yard but the other day I had to wake mom up and take her outside so she could call 911 for the neighbor lady who was having a heart attack. The firemen tried to take me with them but my mom, and I,, both said no.
It's starting to warm up and we have lots of birds and squirrels,. My mom doesn't like me chasing the squirrels, or the birds because we have a nest in one of the trees. She said we have to be quiet. Maybe I can send you a pic of the baby birds? I'll try.
Have a happy spring, my mom and are going to!
Love, Betty
