Nail Polish Lottery Club. ~ Marc Jacobs

Posted on: October 27, 2013

I was so happy with this weeks number because I don’t have 149 un-tried nail polishes any more so I got to use an alternate number which gave me my new Marc Jacobs Enamored Nail Polish which of of course I’ve been dying to try and to show you.

Evelyn from March Jacobs is described as a smoky gray by Sephora and that is a good description of the polish in the bottle. But once on the nail it seems to be a bit of a greenish gray. Don’t get me wrong it is a beautiful polish, beautifully presented and a joy to apply. I will update you on the wear as it is supposed to wear 10-14 days, so we’ll see. We all know I won’t wear it for that long but I will wear it for a few days and that will give a good test of the wearability of this gorgeous polish.

The formula for Evelyn was perfect, not too thick and not too thin. The only complaint I have is with the brush, and you all know how picky I am about brushes. This is a small, short brush, obviously because of the bottle design. I don’t mind a small shot handled brush but this one got more frayed with each dip into the bottle. I did not like that at all.

Seriously, the brush needed a hair cut before I was finished painting my nails. But other than the brush problem this is a high quality polish that shows in the first stoke of application. It was a joy to apply. I used 2 coats and a quick dry top coat in these pictures. It did seem to take a while longer to dry than I normally like but it really is a beautiful polish and I think it will become one of my favorite brands. I bought Evelyn at Sephora for $18. The bottle design is different as one would expect from Marc Jacobs, and hold .43floz. Not a high price point for such a high quality polish.

What do you think, is this a Diana colour? I think it looks a little like one of the OPI Germany collection nail polishes from the last year. Just a little. The bottle looks a little weird to me, but in a way it is different so it makes you think it’s special. Hope you enjoyed it overall!

Too bad the brush was a pain. It looks like a great polish. Maybe it’s the time of year, but I continue to like this type of color. It just seems like a good neutral that would look stunning on many people. I think it’s classy on you Judi. And congratulations on having fewer than 149 untried polishes. I think I’m going the other way… But I am being much more selective than I was in the past.

Sorry to hear about the brush but, the bottle looks cool.

Betty’s Blog

I have been a busy dog because my Mom has this new seizure disorder and its up to me to keep her home when she needs to. I also let her know when it's time to take me for my walk, my neighbors like me too.
My mom won't let me leave the yard but the other day I had to wake mom up and take her outside so she could call 911 for the neighbor lady who was having a heart attack. The firemen tried to take me with them but my mom, and I,, both said no.
It's starting to warm up and we have lots of birds and squirrels,. My mom doesn't like me chasing the squirrels, or the birds because we have a nest in one of the trees. She said we have to be quiet. Maybe I can send you a pic of the baby birds? I'll try.
Have a happy spring, my mom and are going to!
Love, Betty
