May from CHANEL is definetly one of my Top 5 Favorites of all time.
This was a Limited Edition collection released for Spring/Summer of 2012. Along with May, CHANEL also released April and June as part of the S/S line for that year.

May has been an all time favorite for me since it’s release and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I think it is the perfect pink, for me.
I don’t have a dead on dupe for May, but I do have a very close one:

Candy-Licious from Wet n Wild Mega Last is very close to May. I can tell the slightest of difference so I don’t call it a dead on dupe but nevertheless it is very close to being a dupe for May.

If I had to give up all my polish but one, I honestly believe May is the one polish I would keep. I love it that much.

Have you tried May? If so, please let me know what you think.

Tafetta and Teal Blue in the Satin Glam line from Sally Hansen is a new line, with colors on trend for this Spring and beyond.
I chose the purple (Tafetta ) and the blue (Teal Blue) to wear together because I think they look great together and I could not decide which one to wear first.
The formula for these are thin and application takes some thought. You need to be careful to avoid pooling in the cuticles, along with bald spots. I found thin layers to work the best. Normally my pictures are always 2 coats but with this polish I used 3 very thin coats, no top coat. The brush is a normal brush with a longer than usual handle which can cause the polish to drip down the handle while applying. It is also important to let each coat dry thoroughly between layers. With patience your results will be gorgeous and you will not be sorry. I wore this polish for 5 plus days. After 5 days there was no sign of wear, not even on the tips. Removal was also a bit tricky, but again patience wins out. Hold the remover on your nail for just a few seconds longer than usual and it comes right off.

The first picture was taken in full sunlight, the second indoors. I apologize for my shitty low quality iPad camera as I tried to capture the sparkle of the Satin Glam, with not very good results.
When this polish dries, it is a matte finish with sparkle. Sounds like an oxymoron but it is so true. Even on overcast days, the sparkle shows through. I love the contrast of the matte and the sparkle. I hope you will try this line so you may experience just how pretty this polish is! Sally Hansen nail polishes are very affordable and available at most drug stores.

FINAL THOUGHTS: for the new line of Satin Glam nail polish from Sally Hansen . The Satin Glam line includes a full range of colors. The colors are great and on trend for right now, Spring 2014, and beyond. I try not to use the word “love” too much but I honestly am in love with the Satin Glam line. Once I learned to have patience with application this was a perfect polish. The finish is so interesting to me, and of course the sparkle is my favorite part! The sparkle is very subtle yet amazing. This is one of those nail polishes you will be admiring while you drive, it is that pretty! Please be careful while driving!
If you do try this line, I hope you will let me know what you think!

Today is my sister’s birthday.

Cindy from Julep is a sparkling green that was opaque with 2 coats. I did not use a top coat with this.
Even though Julep is not my favorite brand of polish, Cindy is most definetly my favorite sister so I am happy to have a polish named for her!
Happy Birthday Cindy! 🌷 🌸 💐

Cindy and I, when we were little. Cindy is on the left.
If you want, please tell Cindy Happy Birthday in the comment section!

Sugar Shimmer from Sally Hansen are a textured, sparkling polish in colors on trend for this spring and beyond.

I like mixing and matching the colors, up to 3 colors for a manicure is fun for me. But these are also pretty by themselves. The formula is a bit thicker but not too thick. Also, Sugar Shimmer dries faster than a normal polish so you need to work a little faster.
Once dry, these are gorgeous sparkling nails. So pretty when the sun hits them!
You can find Sally Hansen nail polish in the Sugar Shimmer line at most drug stores.
I used 2 coats, no top coat for all the pictures. Tip when Using Sugar Shimmer: For best results, be sure to let dry completely between coats.
If you want to use a top coat, it will not take away from the sparkle but the finish will be more shiny. I personally like the matte type finish with the sparkle.

Let me know if you have tried these or if you plan to. I don’t think you would be disappointed with this one!

Just a few ideas for St Patrick’s Day:

🍀🍀 Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone! 🍀🍀

💅. As always, thanks for stopping by!

Purple Passion from Estée Lauder was part of a 4 piece ‘Coffret’ I purchased from Nordstrom for just under $21. I’ve had this polish on for less than 24 hours, no I have not been digging ditches or any manual labor except for a couple of loads of laundry and grocery shopping. Yet my nails look like heck.
Estée Lauder nail polish is one of my favorite brands, the full size bottles sell for $21 (.3 oz). The formula is creamy and smooth. Usually full coverage is achieved with one coat. The bottle is adorable, the brush is great and the colors are different. Smashed from EL was named by Allure magazine as the best nail color of 2012. I tell you all this so you can understand my disappointment with the performance of this polish. 😧

(photo from Nordstrom’s website)

Disappointment aside I am happy with this set of 4 polishes. The bottles are small, .17 oz but the brush is still normal. The 4 colors are Smashed, Black Plum, Purple Passion and So Vain. Priced at just over $5 for each bottle makes this a great buy. If Nordstrom offers this set again, I will most definetly buy.

FINAL THOUGHTS: for Purple Passion from Estée Lauder ? I really like this color. The formula was very rich and smooth, easy to apply. I ‘wrapped’ my tips as I planned on wearing for a few days, but even so you can see the tip wear in less than 24 hours is unacceptable. I know from past experience that the Estée Lauder brand is better than this and I realize that polish performs different on different people. I would not let this deter you from trying this polish, especially with this little kit. 😍

🌷 Today was a gorgeous day, dare I say spring like? (We will probably have snow tomorrow). I noticed my daffodils are coming up and there are some buds on my rosé bushes. 🌸. It won’t be long now! I hope you are having perfect days now and always!

Gem from Nubar is a sparkle fest of pretty! I am no fan of glitter nail polish, as you all know, but this one is different. The formula for Gem is smooth and applies like a cream polish. Nubar has an excellent formula that wears well–a full week with very minimal tip wear and no chipping–and is one of my favorites. The consistency isn’t too thick or too thin, which enables the polish to apply evenly without streaking. Gem needs 2 coats for full opacity. I did not use a top coat. The caps for Nubar nail polish are all rubberized, very easy to open and to hold.
Removal was not difficult, it was not as easy as a straight up cream, but not hard to remove. I just held the pad with the remover on for a few seconds and then removed. When dry my nails were smooth and sparkled like crazy. I’ve had this bottle for quite sometime but hesitated to use due to my dislike of glitter polish. Another reason the Nail Polish Lottery Club is so much fun!

Nubar nail polish is completely, 100% cruelty free! I love that about this brand, I love that about any brand! The Leaping Bunny logo indicates that not only is Nubar a cruelty free brand , but all their suppliers are also cruelty free. I have an app on my phone (Cruelty-Free). that tells you the cruelty free companies. Not just nail polish but for all types of products. It comes in handy while shopping. It is nice to have a reliable source of cruelty free companies.
I know this is a touchy subject and there is so much mis-information out there and I have found the last place for accurate information are the companies themselves. (One very popular company touts itself as a “vegan” brand of nail polish yet when you search their website for vegan polish, 6 colors come up. I’m not sure how many colors they offer but it is hundreds, if not thousands. I don’t know why but they have also become to be known as cruelty free and that is an out and out lie.) I have come to rely on the Leaping Bunny logo and on my iPhone app: Cruelty-Free

FINAL THOUGHTS: on Gem from Nubar. I like this sparkle-y color a lot. I also like this company because of the fact they are part of the Leaping Bunny organization. This is definetly one of my favorite brands. Nubar is sold in salons and online. There are quite a few online resources. I bought mine from Amazonfor $6-10 each.
