I know it’s been a while, since Dec 13th, 2013 to be exact. That is the day I had a grand Mal seizure which started my journey of learning about seizures, strokes, the difference between .. Etc….

I won’t bore you with the details but I am back to almost 100%. I have come to realize I will never be seizure free but I can live with this disorder so I count myself lucky. Please don’t feel sorry for me. I feel like I owe many of you an explanation as to why I was here one day and gone the next. I enjoy this little blog of mine and have every intention of continuing with it.

So, please bear with me, stay tuned. I have some awesome new polish to show you. Have you heard CHANEL has changed their formula for real and, at this time offer only 14 colors. That is one story I would like to find out more about and I hope you’ll be interested, as well.

A couple of years away and there new trends to review, the gel nail without a light (or gel for that matter), the 10X shine that seems to be making the rounds. And of course the new CHANEL formula.  The pictures are Camelia.  This is one of the new formulas and I love it!  Like most of you I’m disappointed in the color choices by I am going to give CHANEL the chance to bring our favorite colors into the mix.  May anyone?  As in the color May, my all time CHANEL favorite!

I will have a full review of the new formula coming soon.  Let me know if there are any others you would like reviewed.

Without being sappy I have missed my blog friends so, so much. I hope to hear from you all, and soon!

May from CHANEL is definetly one of my Top 5 Favorites of all time.
This was a Limited Edition collection released for Spring/Summer of 2012. Along with May, CHANEL also released April and June as part of the S/S line for that year.

May has been an all time favorite for me since it’s release and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I think it is the perfect pink, for me.
I don’t have a dead on dupe for May, but I do have a very close one:

Candy-Licious from Wet n Wild Mega Last is very close to May. I can tell the slightest of difference so I don’t call it a dead on dupe but nevertheless it is very close to being a dupe for May.

If I had to give up all my polish but one, I honestly believe May is the one polish I would keep. I love it that much.

Have you tried May? If so, please let me know what you think.

💅 As always, thanks for stopping by!

One of my most favorite Revlon nail polish has to be Naughty. This is one of the Revlon nail polish I have owned the longest. It is a dead on dupe for CHANEL Paradoxal.

Naughty from Revlon is a re-promote from Perplexed. If you own Revlon Perplexed then you do not need Naughty. This polish is a cream finish with shimmer and under certain light a du-chrome finish. Sometimes it looks like a deep gray and other times it looks like a straight up dark purple. But it is always a purple with a shimmer to it. It is a very interesting polish.

I’ve had this polish for about 3 years now. It is one of this that I love and as a result, I don’t wear every often. Why is that? It seems like the polish I love the most, I wear the least? Anyway, even after 3 years the formula was perfect. There was no sign of tip wear until the 4 th day and then it was very slight.

My only complaint, which could be easily rectified, is the fact that Naughty was a re-promote. It was once called Perplexed. I think it would be easy for Revlon to publish a list of their re-promoted colors. That would keep all of us from buying the same color twice. I’m sure we’ve all done it, and maybe that is the idea behind Revlon’s policy. I for one would probably buy more Revlon polish. When I see a color with no number on the cap, just above the the name of the color, I am hesitant to,purchase. Only because I may already have this exact color with a different name, or in the future I will buy this exact color with a different name. How great would a list from Revlon be, identifying all those re-promotes?

A girl can dream.

💅 As always, thanks for stopping by!

<emGray Suede by Revlon is not only a favorite Revlon polish but it is one of my all time favorite polishes, evah! It’s a nude, beige color but it has a bit of lilac, a bit of pink, and some gray undertones that all mix so well, this is one polish that looks great on every skin tone.
Revlon hit it out of the park when they did this one, or should I say CHANEL hit it out of the park because it is a dupe for Chanel’s Frenzy. It’s a great polish to wear to a job interview, church, a wedding or any place where conservative is the dress code. Conservative it may be but it is most certainly not boring.

Gray Seude is one that should be in every girls collection, or at least something similar like Chanel’s Frenzy, Deborah Lippmann’s Naked and Modern Love also come to mind as conservative nude polishes that are not boring. Don’t get me wrong, I love and adore my bright fun colored polishes but once in a while a nude is kind of nice to wear as sort of a palette cleanser. Keeps things interesting when you have choices.

705 Gray Suede from Revlon has a thinner than the normal Revlon formula but it was still easy to apply and 2 thin coats is the best way for a flawless application. I did use a quick dry topcoat in these pictures.

👑 As always,thanks for s

UPDATE: after reading some other blogs and doing more research I learned it was not CHANEL Rouge Noir worn by Uma Thurman in the movie ” Pulp Fiction”.
This has been confirmed to several people from CHANEL themselves that they jumped on the dark nail bandwagon in 1994 when this movie came out. In the fall of 1994 the make up artist for CHANEL was using a magic marker to make the models nails dark and that is why they developed #18 Rouge Noir. Sales were through the roof. History was made once again by the House of CHANEL.
What polish was used on Uma Thurman in the movie? MAC Dubonnet used with a bit of OPI matte clear mixed in.

Let it Bleed from Deborah Lippmann for the True Blood series on HBO. This came in a kit called Forsaken and included a lipstick called Bite Me, which is the same color as the nail polish.
I received this the same day I received the CHANEL #18 Rouge Noir that I featured on yesterday’s post. I swatched these 2 colors side by side and quickly realized they are the same. The only difference is the Deborah Lippmann Let it Bleed is fragranced.

Even though these look different from each other in the bottle, they are not when painting on your nails. I used the CHANEL first and was quickly impressed with the look of blood achieved with this polish. Then I swatched the Deborah Lippmann and quickly realized it had the same look and feel of blood. When the swatches dried I could not see a difference in the swatches. I looked at night under the light, in the early morning light and again this afternoon in bright sunlight 😎 there is no difference. This is why I’ve added the DL Let it Bleed as a dead on dupe for CHANEL #18 Rouge Noir on my dupes page, linked above.

I honestly love both of these polishes. I’m so grateful to Carla for sending me the CHANEL and for Haute Look for the deal on the DL set ($8.50 for the set). This polish is definetly in my Top 5 all time favorite polishes. Love it!💜💜

CHANEL May and Mega Last Candy-Licious are about as close in color for a CHANEL May that I have found. These are not exact and I am not calling this a ‘dead on dupe’ but they are very close. The camera picks up the differences much better then when just looking at the half & half manicure I did with these 2 polishes in person. CHANEL May is by far my favorite CHANEL polish I own. The bottle is below the half full point. 😁 May is one CHANEL I will re-purchase unless I can find a ‘dead on dupe’.

Candy-Licious from Mega Last line of Wet n Wild is painted on the pointer and middle finger. I hate the name Candy-Licious, doesn’t it sound like a stripper’s name? Even though the name isn’t my favorite the Mega Last line certainly is. Wet n Wild Mega Last was my number 1 nail polish from the Nail Polish by Brand comparison study I did last summer. It was a surprise to me, but I found out a lot of you have been fans of this line for a very long time. Who knew? The Mega Last polishes haven’t let me down.

May from CHANEL was released in the Spring collection of 2012. The collection included June and April as well. I have found a dupe for April Revlon Raisin Rage is a dupe for April, but that is the only one from that collection that i could call an actual dupe.
In this picture May is painted on my ring finger and pinky. I did use 3 thin coats for May to avoid the dreaded VNL, and for full disclosure I used 2 coats of Candy-Licious. No top coat was used.
Although Mega Last is a great polish for $2.99 and the color is so pretty, even though isn’t a dupe, it is so close I don’t think anyone would doubt you if you said it was May. But, honestly, in real life how often does anyone ask you what polish you are wearing? Not very often. I probably get asked more because I usually have at least 2 -3 different polishes on for testing purposes.
Using these 2 polishes side by side is a great way to test the quality of a polish. Of course the CHANEL can’t be beat by Mega Last quality wise. There is a reason people keep spending $27-30 for a bottle of CHANEL. The quality is awesome, a pure joy.
But if you are one of those people who refuse to spend that much but you like the look of May then the Mega Last in Candy-Licious is your girl.
SMACKDOWN Results: I have to say its a tie. If this was a SMACKDOWN for quality then, CHANEL hands down. If this was a SMACKDOWN for close enough to save $24-27 then MEGA LAST wins hands down.
What do you think? Who do you think should win the SMACKDOWN? Let me know in the comments below.

Don’t forget about my giveaway that closes soon! August 31st to be exact. Go to the giveaway post, you can search open giveaway, leave a comment, tell me your favorite brand of polish. I will organize all the names alphabetically and use random.org topics a winner. Good luck!

CHANEL Azure on the left and Julep Megan on the right are dead on dupes of each other. I know from the picture of the bottles they don’t look to be exact, but they are. The formula for the CHANEL is a lot better than the formula on the Julep. If you do not add enough polish onto the Julep brush to paint your nail, it becomes something like trying to paint gum onto your nails. Of course, the CHANEL formula does not do that.

These are both painted with 2 coats of polish and as you can see they are identical to each other. The only difference being price. I broke the price down per ounce, because the Julep bottle holds so little polish it wouldn’t be fair to compare $27 to a $14 bottle of Julep. CHANEL polish come in .4 ounce bottles. Julep polish comes in .27 ounce bottles. The per ounce price breaks down to CHANEL at $67.50 per ounce and Julep at $51.85 per ounce.
So yes, they are dupes to each other but for such a small difference in the ounce per price, I’d take the CHANEL over a Julep any day.
