I know it’s been a while, since Dec 13th, 2013 to be exact. That is the day I had a grand Mal seizure which started my journey of learning about seizures, strokes, the difference between .. Etc….

I won’t bore you with the details but I am back to almost 100%. I have come to realize I will never be seizure free but I can live with this disorder so I count myself lucky. Please don’t feel sorry for me. I feel like I owe many of you an explanation as to why I was here one day and gone the next. I enjoy this little blog of mine and have every intention of continuing with it.

So, please bear with me, stay tuned. I have some awesome new polish to show you. Have you heard CHANEL has changed their formula for real and, at this time offer only 14 colors. That is one story I would like to find out more about and I hope you’ll be interested, as well.

A couple of years away and there new trends to review, the gel nail without a light (or gel for that matter), the 10X shine that seems to be making the rounds. And of course the new CHANEL formula.  The pictures are Camelia.  This is one of the new formulas and I love it!  Like most of you I’m disappointed in the color choices by I am going to give CHANEL the chance to bring our favorite colors into the mix.  May anyone?  As in the color May, my all time CHANEL favorite!

I will have a full review of the new formula coming soon.  Let me know if there are any others you would like reviewed.

Without being sappy I have missed my blog friends so, so much. I hope to hear from you all, and soon!

mwahhh!!!

This is Diana from Zoya. Zoya is not my favorite nail polish company but when they come out with the name of one of my favorite people on the planet, I had to buy it. This was the case with Diana (Dee-Anna).

IMG_3234.JPG
My friend, who I met on the internet, is a smart, gorgeous young woman. I have a lot of respect for her, and I enjoy so very much our “conversations” by email. I have learned a lot from her and without getting too mushy I just think the world of Diana , the person, not the polish.

IMG_3234-0.JPG
I bought Diana for Diana so she could have it in her collection. I think I forgot to mention she lives in LONDON. At about this time is when the Royal Mail sent her a package back to her. This package contained some nail polish I’d asked her to send. They also gave her a strict scolding about mailing banned items. You can imagine how badly I felt.

IMG_3236.JPG
I have been hanging onto Diana thinking there may come a time when things will ease up but recently I, myself received a scolding letter, with no package, and no promise of the package being returned. But I receive a very scary letter about mailing banned items.
I have never been a huge fan of red nail polish and I don’t own a lot of it. I was surprised at well I like this color on me. This may be my new favorite red. I promise, if somehow I can get some to my friend, I will, but in the mean time I will enjoy this bottle of Diana .

IMG_3238.JPG
Of course I had to show this pic of my beautiful friend Diana. She is just as smart as she is gorgeous. A rare woman indeed and one I’m proud to say is my friend.

💅 As always, thanks for stopping by!

This is a new polish for me from butter London and was sent to me to review, all opinions are my own. I was not asked to give an opinion about this polish, but of course you know I have one!

Airy Fairy from butter LONDON is such a pretty! sparkle-y blue without being glittery and I love it. This picture was in my kitchen.

This picture of Airy Fairy was outdoors on an overcast day.

Bam! Full sunlight. And this is the second day of wearing. This color really needs to come with a warning about driving while nails sparkle, sparkle, sparkle! Especially when the sun hits them full on, I think this is an absolutely gorgeous color for Spring and Summer. I will be wearing often.
The formula, brush, etc are all typical butter LONDON great. Coverage was awesome with 1 coat, but as always the pictures are 2 coats with a quick dry top coat. Today is day 3 for Airy Fairy and there is no sign of wear, even on the tips. I think butter LONDON is by far one of the best brands out there. Availability can be tough for us small town girls but I know Nordstrom’s carries BL and of course their website is a fun one. BL retails for $15 (sales are often available on their site) and they are a cruelty free company. That right there makes it worth every penny of the $15. .

We are smack in the middle of our dogwood season in our little town. We have a Dogwood Festival every year that lasts about 10 days. I think it’s compulsory for everyone to plant a dogwood tree. I love all the dogwoods bloomed out. This is my favorite time of year! I think pink is my favorite color. These are a few in my neighborhood.

For those who are new to my blog and don’t know what the Nail Polish Lottery Club (NPLC) is about! A quick refresher:
NPLC was the brain child of our friend Diana who had nail polish in her collection that she had not used. Her idea was to use random.org to pick a number each week. Using a numbered list of un-tried polishes in your collection, you then would use this random number each week.
Diana made a Facebook page so that we would have an outlet to showcase our un-tried polishes. Some people use their You Tube channel and some people use their blog, which ever works best. There are no rules for the club, only guidelines, you may find the complete list of guidelines here on our Facebook page.
It has been a lot if fun seeing everyone’s picks. I especially like it when our members post pictures of their collections, or other interests they may have. I have posted pictures of things that match my nail polish, which I think is kind of fun.
So, on to this weeks pick. I am still working on my spreadsheet but I found a really pretty pink polish I have not worn.

Posh Pink from Rimmell Lasting Finish Pro is a pretty medium pink cream. Right in my wheel house for a favorite nail polish. I’ve had this for at least a year and somehow it got lost in the wall o’polish! I bought this in a 4-pack from Ross which included a cherry red, a green sparkle-y, and a steel gray. I have not worn any of those either.

The formula on this is very nice, smooth, easy to apply. I am sure I could have achieved full coverage with 1 coat but I did 2 thin coats and I used a fast dry top coat. I am liking this brand a lot, and I especially like this color. This is supposed to be a “long lasting finish” and I will keep you posted on that.
Rimmell is a drug store brand and can be found at most drug stores, or in my case, a discount store. The prices start at 99 cents and goes up to $2.99 for a .5 oz bottle.
I’m very happy with my NPLC pick this week. How did you do with yours? I’ll meet you over at the Facebook page and we can compare notes there!

I had visitors today! This is my son Drew, his girlfriend Shawna and her little girl Nevaeh. Drew told Nevaeh about all my nail polish and she was like a kid in a candy store! Needless to say she went home with whatever polish she wanted. It was a good day made great by seeing my son’s smiling face. It’s great to be alive!

Week 66 of the NPLC was brought to you by the number 66! As I stated in an earlier post I’m still working on getting my spreadsheet back to accurate so this week I used a polish I recently bought.
The Nail Polish Lottery Club has been going for 66 weeks now and it is a lot of fun, if you’re like me and you have a lot of nail polish, some of it un-tried. To participate, make a numbered list of your un-tried nail polish. Each Monday at 1pm PST, I pick a new number using 1-365 at Random.org. The numbers can be manipulated however needed so that you then try a polish you own but have never worn.
I know everyone has their own way of making their sheets, using the numbers and defining un-tried nail polish. My definition of an un-tried, is a polish I may have swatched and photographed but never worn as a day to day manicure. We use numbers 1-365 so sometimes the number chosen will be more than the number of polish you have in your collection, that is when the manipulation of the numbers works. For instance, this week was #66, you could use #12 (6+6=12) or #3 (1+2=3).
It’s all very simple and lots of fun. For more information or to join along visit our Facebook page here. This is where you will also find a complete list of guidelines, which explain things way better than I can.

Candid Affair from Wet n Wild Mega Last. This is a new, Limited Edition from Wet n Wild Mega Last, which after months and months of the same color options at the drug store, it was so nice to see some new colors from this line.

20140413-165243.jpg
I bought the 2 nail polishes circled in the photo and the eyeshadow pallete called “Flirting at the After Party”.

Wet n Wild is an incredibly nice eyeshadow, for a drug store brand. The colors are rich, stay true to the pan color and I find they stay on fairly well, again for a drug store brand.
These are all Limited Edition which can be a hard to find. You can tell the LE status from the white packaging.

20140413-165540.jpg
WnW Mega Last came out number 1 in my list of nail polish by brand comparison I did last summer. One of the reasons was the pricing. I used price as a factor which moved a lot of the drug store brands up the list, but even so I compared the drug store brands equally to higher end polish using formula, dry time, colors, bottle and brush design and WnW Mega Last held its own.
WnW Mega Last nail polish has a nice workable formula. Not to thick, self levels, dry time is pretty fast. Any time there is a sheen or shimmer in the bottle, it almost always translates to the nails. The brush is a wide flat brush. My favorite kind! I know some don’t like this brush but if you wipe the brush on all sides you can use it as a normal size brush.
Candid Affair is a soft lilac color with a bit of a sheen. The photos are 3 thin coats with a fast dry top coat. This was needed to cover VNL, but if you don’t mind a bit of visible nail line, 2 coats work great.
If you can find this collection, I suggest you picking it up. . For less than $10 you would be set for Spring. What is better on nails during Spring then a soft lilac? Or a soft silver/gray? Both work and both are right on trend for this Spring.

💅 As always, thanks for stopping by!>

The number for this week was 79, I have a confession to make regarding the numbers. My google spreadsheet quit working for me quite some time ago. My friend Diana sent the original to me, and between my health issues and her being on holiday I haven’t had a chance to ask how I can fix it. I have just been using my nail polishes willy nilly, no rhyme nor reason. 💋💋
It’s not nearly as much fun as the Nail Polish Lottery Club and I hope to be back on track this week. (I think I have a plan to fix the problem, remember I said I think).
If you would like more information about the club, please go to our Facebook page here. We’d love to have you, all are welcome!
Now for this weeks “pick”

20140407-000344.jpg
Porchester Square from Nails, Inc GEL NAIL POLISH EFFECT . This is a fairly new line from Nails, Inc claiming the benefits of a gel manicure, without the gel or the special light needed for curing the polish. The bottle says it has a new ‘plasticizer’ technology and it allows for plumping of the nail. I’m not sure about the plumping part, or why that would be a selling point, but I absolutely love the idea of a gel polish without the fuss. 😘
>

20140407-000702.jpg
Porchester Square is a great color. Nails, Inc sells this color in their regular line too. It’s one of my favorite types of colors, a mushroom taupe-y color that I think is a neutral and can be worn for all occasions. I would wear this for a job interview, without hesitation.
>

20140407-001923.jpg
The formula on this was nice and smooth, easy to apply. The bottle is small, .27 ounce, but the brush was not too tiny for my big ‘ol nail beds. People with smaller nail beds will really like this brush.
These pictures are all 2 coats with a quick dry top coat. If I really wanted I could have used only 1 coat, a thicker application would be needed but coverage for this polish is awesome. I prefer to use thinner coats and I guess I’ve just made it a habit to always show 2 coats on my blog.
>

20140407-002152.jpg
I have been trying out a few of these “gel effect” nail polishes to see how they hold up over time. I will have a post coming soon comparing the “gel effect” and showing the time frame each have for wear. I think it will be interesting and I’m curious to see how this one holds up. Stay tuned!

FINAL THOUGHTS: Nails, Inc GEL EFFECT polish has a nice formula, great coverage, easy to apply and I think the color is pretty. So far so good, but time will tell!

Gem from Nubar is a sparkle fest of pretty! I am no fan of glitter nail polish, as you all know, but this one is different. The formula for Gem is smooth and applies like a cream polish. Nubar has an excellent formula that wears well–a full week with very minimal tip wear and no chipping–and is one of my favorites. The consistency isn’t too thick or too thin, which enables the polish to apply evenly without streaking. Gem needs 2 coats for full opacity. I did not use a top coat. The caps for Nubar nail polish are all rubberized, very easy to open and to hold.
Removal was not difficult, it was not as easy as a straight up cream, but not hard to remove. I just held the pad with the remover on for a few seconds and then removed. When dry my nails were smooth and sparkled like crazy. I’ve had this bottle for quite sometime but hesitated to use due to my dislike of glitter polish. Another reason the Nail Polish Lottery Club is so much fun!

20140315-133840.jpg
Nubar nail polish is completely, 100% cruelty free! I love that about this brand, I love that about any brand! The Leaping Bunny logo indicates that not only is Nubar a cruelty free brand , but all their suppliers are also cruelty free. I have an app on my phone (Cruelty-Free). that tells you the cruelty free companies. Not just nail polish but for all types of products. It comes in handy while shopping. It is nice to have a reliable source of cruelty free companies.
I know this is a touchy subject and there is so much mis-information out there and I have found the last place for accurate information are the companies themselves. (One very popular company touts itself as a “vegan” brand of nail polish yet when you search their website for vegan polish, 6 colors come up. I’m not sure how many colors they offer but it is hundreds, if not thousands. I don’t know why but they have also become to be known as cruelty free and that is an out and out lie.) I have come to rely on the Leaping Bunny logo and on my iPhone app: Cruelty-Free

20140315-135333.jpg
FINAL THOUGHTS: on Gem from Nubar. I like this sparkle-y color a lot. I also like this company because of the fact they are part of the Leaping Bunny organization. This is definetly one of my favorite brands. Nubar is sold in salons and online. There are quite a few online resources. I bought mine from Amazonfor $6-10 each.

For more information and the guidelines for the Nail Polish Lottery Club, please go to our Facebook page here. I have had so much fun the last year seeing every ones picks each week. Also, I love when we show pictures of our collections!!
