I often get asked what is the best brand of nail polish. Because of that, I have been working all summer on comparing different brands of nail polish. I compared over 28 brands of nail polish, all available in the US. Meaning this comparison of brands does not include any Barry M or other brands only available in the UK. I scored the different brands using these 5 items of criteria: brush/bottle, formula, price, dry time, and wear. These are the items that are important to me in a nail polish. When I was finished there were 3 brands that had all 5/5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

#6 on my list is Zoya. This is my favorite Zoya polish, Lotus. Lotus is a purple cream with a little silver shimmer and tons of copper micro-glitter. I love this polish. It is stunning in the daylight!

Ashley by Zoya. This maroon cream is beautiful yet mysterious, just like my girl Ashley. There is a charcoal stripe running through the maroon cream that translate onto the nail perfectly.

Drew by Zoya. Of course Drew is my favorite son of all time so this polish by Zoya is also a favorite. It’s a pretty rose-y mauve with a silver shimmer. I thinks it’s very pretty.

Lara by Zoya is just a pretty cream pink. So pretty. I wore this one a lot throughout spring and summer.

Toni, this is a new polish from their A/W 2012 collection. I love this deep maroon color. This is just one coat, no top coat. I’m sure I will wear this so much this coming winter!

Evvie. This is also new from the A/W 2012 collection. The first time I saw this in promos I fell in love with the deep dark green, with a gray cast to it. I think it is stunning! One of the things I like about Zoya and shopping with them on-line is they categorize their polish not only by color ranges but tones. Like me, I need a cool tone polish to go with my skin. A warm tone polish just doesn’t cut it, I never like a warm tone polish and usually end up giving them away. But at Zoya you don’t have to guess because they lay it all out for you. They designate the opacity as well. Zoya also allows you to shop by collection or color. If you are looking for a red polish, they have you covered. If you know you want something from the Gossip collection, you’re set. It really is easy to shop with them online.

LC and Lo from the Gossip collection. LC is on the left. Zoya has a program called “Share the Love” which allows you to collect points. You can keep your points as long as you want and then use them for promotions, or you can use them any time. Right now the only promotion they have when you redeem your points is for free shipping with 75 points. When you create an account they give you 100 points. If you haven’t created an account yet, go to Zoya here to get the points added to your account. This is a “Share the Love” link. I really do like the way Zoya has made shopping with them online very easy. I have not purchased a polish from Zoya that when I got it home I did not like. Very unusual for me! Ha! πŸ’…

This is my little Zoya collection. Not a lot but a lot of variety. My Zoya nail polish makes me happy!
Zoya got 4/5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟 in my comparison study and lost out on a price star only. Every other aspect of this brand was perfect! Zoya priced out at $16 an ounce. ($15 was the cut off for a star)

πŸ’… this is the bottom 5 of my top 10 list. Stay tuned for the top 5 coming up. Any surprises? Let me know what you think of my ratings so far. I cannot wait to get to #1, I think you will be surprised! I know I was!. Hee Hee! πŸ’…

As always, thanks for stopping by!

50 Shades of Sunday! This is the new name for my Sunday series. This is where I wear a polish from my collection, that for whatever reason, I have never worn. Last week I put it out there that I wish I could think of a snappy name for this series. Thanks to Debbie, one of my You Tube viewers for coming up with this name. I love it, and I think it fits perfectly with the idea behind this series. So, thanks again, Debbie.

20120715-090126.jpgThis is Ashley from Zoya.

20120715-090634.jpgThis is my girl Ashley, from Jud and Dorothy.. I know some of you think Ashley is my daughter, I’ve even had comments that we “look” just alike. (I’m sure Ashley is disconcerted by those, but I’m complimented by them). Ashley is not my daughter but I love her just as much as if she were my daughter. I call her my girl because she is a part of my family. Family goes far beyond the term friend, but that’s what she is, family. Both Ashley and her dad, Jud.

20120715-091333.jpgI like this picture of us because I look so darn skinny! And, just look at that smile on Ashley. Gorgeous!.
Back to the polish: Ashley, from Zoya. I wonder just how many people own this polish because of the name? I was going to Google search just how popular the name ‘Ashley’ is, but I don’t have to, I know how popular it is. When the kids were in grade school, they went to a small, private Catholic school. The school only goes to 6th grade, then they went into the public schools. I’m not saying Ashley’s last name, but it is a pretty common name. It’s not Smith or Jones, but common. There were so many Ashleys in the public school, they went by their last names a lot, but Ashley had another girl in her class with the same last name so she had to go by Ashley B. which is her middle initial. I tell you all this so you get the idea, Ashley is a popular name.
When ordering Zoya polish, I searched the names of my loved ones, Jilly, Jillian, Jill, no. But Drew and Ashley, yes! So of course, I got polish with the names Drew and Ashley. I have worn the Drew polish.. When I was looking through my polish collection last night, back in the corner of my new rack were the 2 from Zoya I will always have. I’ve been thinking about Ashley a lot these days and it just made sense, to me, that this is what I will wear this week. This color is a dark maroon with a charcoal stripe running through it. Very mysterious. The formula was a bit goopy. I always paint my nails with 2 thin coats of polish and then a top coat. I think this would have been fine with one normal coat.

20120715-093710.jpgI hope you can see what I’m talking about with the charcoal stripe running through this polish. I think it really gives it depth of color. Do I have other polishes this color? Of course! Revlon Vixen (Vamp dupe) Raven Red, Foxy and Raisin Rage are all very similar, not exact but close.
Finally, one of my favorite pictures of my kids. This was the first day of public school for Drew. I have a picture for the first day of school for each and every year, but this is my favorite. To this day, these 3 are a lot like this picture. Drew is the big brother to both my girls. Those 3 faces are my whole world. πŸ’—

Today is the Academy Awards broadcast. Ashley is coming to watch with me at my house. Just the 2 of us. When the girls were little we would all dress up, including Drew and watch the Oscars and pretend we were there. What I wouldn’t give to have those days back!

This is the most recent picture of Ashley and I. Ashley wanted us to enter a contest put on by StyleMint to win new tees. The contest was to submit a picture with some one you love wearing Style Mint tees. This is the picture Ashley submitted:

Wouldn’t it be a hoot if we won? Fingers crossed. Ok now on to the nail of the day (NOTD) this is Go Go Pink by China Glaze. I picked this up in a prepackaged set of this polish, a bottle of Seche Vite fast drying top coat and a pink crystal angel for your key ring. This was put out during October for breast cancer awareness month. I was in a pink mood today so I used this color.

I have quite a few pink polishes but that didn’t stop me from picking up yet another one. This is from Butter London, I loved the packaging and the polish remover smells like baby powder.

The color is Teddy Girl. And yes I ordered this before lent. I painted these two side by side and i cannot tell the difference between them. China Glaze did take a third coat for full opacity, while the Butter London only needed two coats.
Thanks for stopping by.
Do you like this pink? Ever in a pink mood?
