Today is the beginning of Lent. What are you giving up for Lent? If anything?. As a Catholic the idea of giving up something for Lent is ingrained and for me it marks the start of spring. I do not whine, cry, pine, or bitch abut Spring until Lent. So now that Lent is here, let the bitching’ begin!. I’m pining after some Spring!
Okay enough about that. What am I giving up for Lent? Since I have been on a buying spree that doesn’t seem to show any signs of letting up, I am giving up buying nail polish. Same thing I gave up last year.

I was going to do a green and blue crazy manicure. The first thing I did was gather up all my blue and green colors. I have enough blue. I have enough green. I like those colors separate and I like them together. But I did not come up with any combinations that I liked. This is what I came up with.

Sally Hansen Kwik-Dri one in blue, one in green, and one in pink. I like these combined. What do you think?
🌟🌟🌟 I really like the SH Kwik-Dri but I am only giving them 3 stars. They do dry quick and the colors are pretty, but they are a bit streaky and way thick. My problem with thick nail polish is I start to pick at it and then pretty soon it’s all picked off and then I will start to chew my nails, I know, disgusting, that’s why I don’t like thick polish.. The more I think of it, the more I should take a star away, but I won’t.
πŸ’° πŸŽ‰ πŸ‘Don’t forget about my giveaway going in now. Even though I ask you to name the colors of my manicure this is a random drawing and one winner will be chosen by <a href="http://Rafflecopter “>Rafflecopter.

A little more than a year ago I started this blog. I am so thankful for all my followers and for all of you who leave comments and for the support you’ve shown me. I am also so thankful for my family and my friends who have also shown me more support of this little blog than I imagined. I get a kick out of my friend Jud mentioning something that I’d written on here. And I appreciate that he goes on Google to see who comes up first in nail polish searches and tells me what I should do..
I love that Jilly and Ashley read my blog, once in while because if not for them, I would not have started this. And it is because of them, I will never stop.

Ashley is on the left and my beautiful daughter Jilly is on the right. For the record, one more time, Ashley is not my daughter. But she is my girl. I raised her along with her Dad and her step-mom.
I have 2 kids, Drew and Jilly. They are my life and the most interesting, funny, smart, accomplished people I know.

And look how cute they are!

Again thank you for all the love and support you all show me!!
πŸ’…As always, thanks for stopping by.

This is part 4 of my nail polish collection. I’m trying to get these all swatched and organized in the new cabinet I found at a yard sale last week end. I’m excited to have found this as it will fit perfectly on my dresser top in my bedroom. This is the room with the least sun, and as we all know, we want to store our polish in a cool, dry, dimly lit area. Plus, once they are all in the cabinet I will be able to see them, without pawing through my bowls I had them in before.

This is the cabinet, before doing any work to it. I will show you when it’s all finished. But now to my OPI and Wet n Wild polishes. I must say right off the bat I was somewhat of a snob when it came to WnW polish. They are so cheap, 99 cents up to $2.99, I didn’t think they could possibly be any good. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! WnW has great colors, and I love the wide fat brush in the Mega Last line.

Out of the colors on this wheel, my favorites are from WnW. I love the Lavender Creme for this summer. It is spot on trend, and look how pretty it looks on my nails. Dream Poppy and Heat Wave are also, both spot on trend for this summer.

My favorite half and half manicure for this spring has been the WnW Candylicious with Through the Grapevine. Candylicious is a very close dupe for CHANEL May. I wrote about it, with swatches here.
Although it seems like all the lovin is going to WnW on this particular wheel let’s not forget about one of my all time favorites, ever, Wooden Shoes Like to Know from OPI

This was released this spring from OPI’s Holland collection. I love this polish so much, I may want to have an affair with it. I’m not quite sure I want to marry it, but yea I’d have an affair with it. From that same collection I also love and adore I Don’t Giveaway Rotterdam

So pretty when the light hits this silver micro shimmers, gorgeous! πŸ’— Makes my heart go Pitter pat!

This is also a wheel I could live with. It’s not my absolute favorite wheel of gorgeousness, but I could live with it.
<emCheck back for Part 5 of my nail polish collection. I'm not sure what it will be, I still have Revlon, Julep, China Glaze, CHANEL, Orly, CND, MAC, Gosh, etc….
πŸ’…Remember to Keep Calm and Paint Your Nails!

This is part 2 of my nail polish collection. These are all my Venique and Barry M polishes. I’ve told you before Venique is one of my favorite brands, and so is Barry M. One of my very favorite polishes of all time is CHANEL Paradoxal. Which, if you read me for 5 minutes, you will know that Revlon Naughty is a dupe, and so is Barry M Dusky Mauve.

My other favorite from this group is the Venique Kitten Heel Slides. This was sent to me by my friend April, TheGlitterGyrl. This was the first I’d heard of Venique. It launched last fall, I’ve written about it before, and it still is one of my favorites. My bottle of Kitten Heel Slides has actually gone down, along with Venique Heel d’Orsay. I have very few bottles that show any usage, so that should tell you how much I love these colors.

If I had to live only with the colors on this wheel, I would be happy. There’s the bright fuchsia pink duo-chrome, the Paradoxal type, the cream brown, peachy nudes, bright pinks and great colors for fall. All on this one wheel. Truly a wheel of gorgeousness!

My Nail Polish Collection, Part 3 is coming up. It includes my Essie, Color Club and butter London polish. As always, I did a video on my You Tube channel showing these polishes. My new channel is MABQ22. (MiddleAgedBeautyQueen22)

Thanks for stopping by!

The top picture is Revlon Copper Penny. The bottom picture is Chanel Delight, taken from Google Images. (sorry, there was no photo credit on the Google image one).

I am adding this to my CHANEL dupe page as it is a dead on dupe.

This is the same polish, the same day as the first picture but as you can see it changes with the light. In this picture it is definitely a rose gold, but in the other pictures it is more gold. After wearing this for a day, I think it is pretty and seems more rose gold than gold. It looks great with my MK rose gold watch.

As this makes number 8, of my gold nail polish I am officially not buying any more gold polish! I actually have 7 bottles because I sent The gorgeous Diane a bottle of Revlon Gold Coin. I wound up with 2 bottles of Copper Penny. I bought this at my Albertson’s store. They have a large selection of Revlon polish and are the cheapest place in town to buy ($4.29). When I got home I had 2 bottles in my sack but I only paid for 1, so I called to tell them I would be bringing back a bottle. Marni, the front end manager said she put that in my bag because they are discontinuing carrying that color and she wanted to get rid of it. I didn’t have the heart to tell her 1 bottle is P-L-E-N-T-Y! But, thank you Marni. πŸ™‚

Copper Penny on the left, CHANEL Delight is on the right.

This is another Revlon dupe I’ve found for a CHANEL polish. This is for the Les Jeans collection. I found a dead on dupe for Coco Blue. Revlon Dreamer is a dupe for Coco Blue.
