Number 5 All Time CHANEL color list favorites:

Azure by CHANEL was released as part of their Spring 2014 collection. Since my birthday and Mother’s Day are in the Springtime my wonderful son, Drew bought this bottle of Azure for me. This rates as a Number 5 All Time CHANEL color list favorites
not necessarily because I am so very fond of the color, but because my 28 year old son purchased this for me. It was a thoughtful gift from the heart, he thought about what I’d really like and he was right.

(Had to get a picture of my handsome son in here! This is Drew)
thank you Drew for a very nice present I will treasure always

Number 4 All Time CHANEL color list favorites:

Black Pearl from CHANEL will have a permanent Number 4 All Time CHANEL color list favorites for me because I adore this polish. The formula is not fussy, as we know some CHANEL formulas can be a bit fussy. But, Black Pearl is the same today as it was yesterday and as I imagine it will be tomorrow. I love the Black Pearl color that is some what a duo chrome that picks up black with green or black with blue, depending on the lighting and the surroundings.

Number 3 All Time CHANEL color list favorites:

Infidel from CHANEL is one of those classic “dusty rosΓ©” type colors. I love this color and for me it would be an every day wear color.

Number 2 All Time CHANEL color list favorites:

Skyline from CHANEL is a soft baby blue shimmer, reminds me of the olden days. Again, with my coloring you would think any baby blue polish would work for me, but not so. Skyline is one of this perfect blues. The formula is different than most CHANEL polishes in that with the amount of shimmer in the color you can achieve perfect coverage with one coat but watch out for cuticle filling or spillage.

FOR THE number 1 Spot in my list of All Time Favorite CHANEL colors:

May from CHANEL was released the Spring of 2011 along with April and June. May is another classic Barbie type pink that I adore. It has a touch of blue in it so it makes it perfect for me. Be warned: this polish will cause you to admire your nails at an inopportune times, such as conversation with boss, sun hits your nails while driving, etc… You will love this polish but it has another warning and that is about the formula. This is one of this fussy formulas. For best resulsts start with patience, then 3 thin coats. It is best to let the coats dry completely between. This is the where patience is crucial. But once applied properly it is so worth it! Your manicure will last about 10 days before needing a touch up.
All the CHANEL polishes mentioned can be found at www.nordstrom.com or on the www.chanel.com and cost $27-30.
I do have a page of dupes for Chanel’s for less expensive polish with the same look.

May has a dupe from Wet n Wild Mega Last called Candy-Liscious. This is not an exact dupe but pretty, pretty, pretty close.

I hope you enjoyed my personal list of my favorite Top 5 CHANEL nail polish colors. What are yours? I’d love to know!

πŸ’… As always, thanks for stopping by!

Every October has been designated as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”, one of the way the nation has embraced this idea is to wear pink. What better way to show our support than breaking out the pink nail polish in support of such a great cause?
Some of my favorites pinks:

Strawberry Margarita is one of OPI’s oldie but a goodie. For me it is the perfect medium pink. Just like this next one is the perfect baby pink:

This is from the Girls collection from Deborah Lippmann and it is Marnie. I get more compliments with this color than any other baby pink I wear. With only 2 coats the coverage is complete and it wears like iron.

I’d be remiss not to mention CHANEL May, not only is May my birthday month but it is my favorite pink shade from CHANEL, aptly named “May”.
The second picture show Wet n Wild Mega Last in the color CandyLicious as being a very close dupe for CHANEL May. When you are looking eyeball to eyeball, they look the same.

From butter LONDON Primrose Hill Picnic is a great everyday pink. If I had to wear pink forever, this would definetly be one of them.

Smell the Roses from L’Oreal has to be mentioned as this is my favorite ‘neutral’ pink. Another great everyday pink to wear.

I hope I’ve inspired you to get out those pink polishes you own and lets all wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAW). I know there are several special editions collections packaged for BCAW with some of the proceeds going for breast cancer research. Even if I don’t need another set I; always try to buy them when I can. I know it’s a good cause and I know they are so close to finding the cure, our support is needed more than ever.

What’s your favorite pink polish to wear? Will you be busting out a special pink for this month?

πŸ’… As always, thanks for stopping by!

May from CHANEL is definetly one of my Top 5 Favorites of all time.
This was a Limited Edition collection released for Spring/Summer of 2012. Along with May, CHANEL also released April and June as part of the S/S line for that year.

May has been an all time favorite for me since it’s release and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I think it is the perfect pink, for me.
I don’t have a dead on dupe for May, but I do have a very close one:

Candy-Licious from Wet n Wild Mega Last is very close to May. I can tell the slightest of difference so I don’t call it a dead on dupe but nevertheless it is very close to being a dupe for May.

If I had to give up all my polish but one, I honestly believe May is the one polish I would keep. I love it that much.

Have you tried May? If so, please let me know what you think.

I have been working on this post for quite some time, as since the year is half over I thought it was time to get on with it. The Huffington Post came out with a list of America’s favorite nail polishes for 2012. As since I am an American I every right to disagree with their list and make one of my own. Right?
This was the Huffington Post’s List:
Essie Butler Please
Julep America
L’Oreal I Will
Nicole by OPI Maid for Each Other
Zoya Farah
Maybelline Color ShowGreen With Envy **
Jin Soon Debonair
Tom Ford Burnished Rouge $30
**the Maybelline polish is the reason I decided to do my own as the only polish I’ve ever thrown away was a Maybelline Color Show. Because the Huffington Post included this on their list, tells me they know not so much about nail polish, or what American women like as their favorite nail polishes.
So here is my list:
I agree that Number 1 should be CHANEL May, not June, but May. May is one of those gorgeous colors your stare at your nails while driving, it’s that beautiful and at $27 a bottle it should be.

May from CHANEL
Number 2 on my list is Deborah Lippmann Naked. It is the perfect nude that every woman needs in her collection.

Numer 3 on my list of favorite polishes of 2012 is from L’Oreal Now You Sea Me

Number 4 on my list is from EstΓ©e Lauder . Called Smashed.

Number 5 is going to seem strange as a favorite for the year because clearly this is a summer neon pink polish, but not just any neon pink, it is a special neon pink from Orly called Beach Cruiser.

Number 6 is a pretty medium pink with a bit of a frost that again, every one wants in their collection, fromZoyaDrew is a great polish for all skin tones and all types of women.

Number 7 is a great neutral for a job interview or if you work where your polish has to be conservative. It’s an easy polish to apply and to wear. From OPI Berlin There, Done That

Number 8 Primrose Hill Picnic from Butter London (was sent to me for review) is a great polish, any time of year but especially during picnic weather.

Number 9 I happen to agree with 1 polish on the Huffington Post’s list L’Oreal I Will. It is a gorgeous off white polish, looks great with a tan, looks great to show off your new engagement ring, which is why I don’t have a picture of mine. You see my daughter became engaged in December and she “borrowed” my bottle of I Will but a great alternative would be from Revlon Cabana Queen orCloud, is the same polish, just different name.

It has the same off white color that is perfect for showing off your tan and/or those engagement rings!
This brings us to Number 10 on the list, which is truthfully my number 1 polish, always, Sally Hansen Comple Salon Manicure Commander in Chic. This polish has been duped by every company, Sephora by OPI Metro Chic, Essie Merino Cool, Rimmell Something Steel, and the list goes on but Commander in Chic will always be my favorite.

My list of favorite polishes for 2012 ran the gamut of $27 polishes to $2.99 but I think this is a more realistic list of what real American women want for nail polishes. But what do I know about nail polish? Ha!

What’s your favorite 10 nail polishes?

πŸ’… As always thanks for stopping by!

CHANEL 535 May was released last spring by CHANEL along with April and June. May is in my Top 5 favorite of all time polishes because I love this color of pink, it is a warm pink, which usually doesn’t look good with my skin but this one does. This has been a tough CHANEL to find a dead on dupe for, and I think that’s because it is a warm pink.
The formula on May is as fussy as can be. It requires patience to get a good manicure from it. I needed 3 thin coats and each coat needs to dry completely before applying the next otherwise the polish will grab and it is a bit like trying to paint your nails with chewing gum. If you are going to buy May, just know it takes time but it is so worth the effort. When I have May on my nails I have to be very careful driving, it’s one of those polishes you want to stare at, especially when the sun is out.
CHANEL 535 May gets 5/5 stars from me 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It is that good!

πŸ’… As always, thanks for stopping by.

To say this is my favorite polish would be like picking a favorite child. But it is most definetly in My Top 5.

20120717-121051.jpgThis is indoors, morning light, day 1.

20120717-121120.jpgFull sun, day 1.
I must tell you I did “sandwich” this with CHANEL Frisson. I was catching a little bit of the glimmer when I had 1 coat May, 1 coat Frisson, 1 coat May. But, like most CHANEL polishes the dreaded VNL was showing so I did put a thin 3rd coat on, which unfortunately hides the Frisson. Frisson is a light pink, with a golden shimmer along with gold & silver micro glitter.
This is a pretty polish (Frisson) but way too shear for me to wear on its own. Thank you to the beautiful Lori, who sent Frisson to me in my birthday package. Love you baby doll.

But back the CHANEL May, this was from their Spring/Summer 2012 collection, which also included April and June. I’ve told you before on here, I had to buy May because it’s pink and May is my birthday month along with my gorgeous daughter Jilly’s.

20120717-122137.jpgThis picture of Jilly makes me happy, so I’m including it. πŸ’—
I’m going to give this polish the wear test, so I will keep you posted. I usually get bored with a color after about 2 days max, but this really is such a pretty color, I love it.

Thanks for stopping by. πŸ’…

πŸ‘£Update: Day 2: still wearing the May, but I really want to paint my nails!

20120718-084600.jpgI did add a coat of Frisson as an accent on my ring finger. The wear is beautiful, as in none so far, no chips, looks great!

Since I started doing the dupes for CHANEL polishes I have been asked, over and over, if I knew of a dupe for May. May was released by CHANEL early in 2012 as part of the Spring 2012 collection. Released along with May was April and June. I did find an exact, dead on dupe for April, Revlon Raisin Rage, I have not been able to find an exact, dead on dupe for May or June. May is probably my favorite polish of all time. It is pink and May is my birthday month and my daughter was born in May. I like May. πŸ™‚

This is not an EXACT, DEAD ON DUPE, but I think you will agree, it is pretty darn close. The following pics are of 3 “nails”. The top picture was taken at night: starting on the left is Candy-liscious, the center half May, half Candy-Licious, on the end May.
The next picture is in the morning light, this time May is on the left, center half & half with Candy-licious on the end.

There is such a slight difference, it does not show up in the pictures. Candy-licious/Rose bonbon is just a shade, maybe even half a shade, darker than May. In the center nail, bottom pic, i hope you can see the difference. Ever so slight. That is why I won’t be adding this to my dupe page but I did want to tell you about it. I will continue to look for the exact dupe for May, but this one is so close, and to tell the truth I like the formula of WnW better. Goes on great in 2 coats, not fussy at all. May can be a little fussy. When you look at the price difference of $24, I think the Wet n Wild looks awesome! πŸ™‚
