HPCIG? = How Pink Can I Go?

Pink Flamingo from GOSH. GOSH is a UK brand available also in Canada and on Amazon.com. It’s a drug store polish with a bit of a higher price tag. But the quality is there so the extra money is well worth it. I don’t have very many GOSH nail polishes in my collection but the few I have, I treasure. Mostly because they were sent by dear friends but because they are such good quality.

Pink Flamingo from GOSH is another of those hot pink polishes I love and it seems I have to own every hot pink nail polish made, because I do have most of them, I think. (If i dont, DO NOT TELL ME OF ONE). And, as usual, you can see from this picture, the hot pink nail polishes need an ‘ undie’ or you get some VNL. This one from GOSH wasn’t too bad but that’s one thing that will drive me to remove the polish, add an undie and then re-paint the same polish. OCD much?

I haven’t really done my Easter mani yet, and I need to do my Week 12 for the #NPLClub, so these are some pics that maybe will inspire you for your Easter mani. Or if you don’t celebrate Easter, just some pretty Spring colors!

Flamingo by Gosh.. This is a UK brand but I think it’s also available in Canada. Love this brand but also love the bright pink!

Gosh Fossil Grey. This is the polish sent to me by Secret Santa who was actually Shayna at The Polish Jinx. (I hope you check out her blog, she really seems to have fun with it.)
This Fossil Grey looks green in the bottle but is more gray-green when on the nail. It also has a slight frost to it. I think it is perfect for this time of year, it will be great for spring and summer. It’s kind of an old fashioned polish with a current color. I hope that makes sense! πŸ’…

The formula of this Gosh polish was just like the other Gosh polishes I have. It’s a good formula, easy to work with. It looked fine with 1 coat, but you know me, I put on 2 coats.

πŸ’… Gosh Cosmetics is a Denmark company, they do ship worldwide and will ship to the states for a flat rate fee of $6.95. They have a full line of cosmetics, not just nail polish. Some of my favorite colors from Gosh are Miss Mole and Purple Heart. Miss Mole is a medium brown with the same charcoal stripe running through the bottle. Purple Heart is a deep purple, that has a green shimmer in the bottle, but it does not want to transfer to the nail. It’s still a pretty polish.
πŸš‘ With a flat rate shipping fee it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get with some friends to place one order, then you could divide up the shipping. Even those these are drug store polishes they are a bit more than usual. These are $9-10 each from what I’ve heard. I have not shopped on their website, you can find them here.
Let me know if you do order, and of course if you were happy with the service.

πŸ’… As always, thanks for stopping by.

Some of you may have noticed the Blogger’s Secret Santa icon on my blog page. I signed up to be a part of this years Secret Santa. It was for bloggers only and the idea was to send something nice to your chosen person for around Β£10 or $16. It was cheap and cheerful, just like me and I enjoyed being a part of. The Secret Santa was hosted by Erin at 365 make up, a big Thank You to Erin.

πŸš‘ When my mailman first showed up today, the only thing she brought was a jury summons. Every January for the past 6 years I get picked? I have a theory about that, but I won’t go into here. A few minutes later she came back with a package. It had a customs form on it. I’ve been expecting a package from my friend Diana, who lives in London. But to my surprise, it was from my Secret Santa.

I am so excited by the presents my Secret Santa sent! She sent me a bottle of butter London Brummie, vibrant purple. Looks similar to Play Date from Essie, but richer, deeper purple. I don’t have anything like this color!

Gosh!. I love this brand, I have a couple of bottles, but nothing like these colors. They are gorgeous colors and I can’t wait to wear. I don’t know which one I’ll try first. I may have to do one of my half & half manis for these. On the left is the color Drizzle and on the right, Fossil Grey. I don’t have anything like these. Drizzle is a muted green, OPI Thanks a Windmillion, from their Holland collection is similar. The Gosh polish has a bit of a darker vein running through it. I hope you can see in the photo.

I just painted my nails with EstΓ©e Lauder Black Sapphire, but I’m going to paint them with one, or both of the Gosh.

She also sent a nice size tube of spa H2O hand and nail cream. I put some on and it smells great. The formula sinks right in and left my hands feeling soft. I have been shaking and squeezing in my tube of Barrielle hand and nail cream, so this was perfect timing!

πŸ‘Ό I want to give a big Thank You to Shayna at ThePolishJinx for sending my Secret Santa presents. You did good! πŸ’… 😍 πŸ’“ πŸŽ„ β›„
I don’t know if I’m allowed to reveal who my person I sent presents for, so I will hold off until further notice. It wasn’t Shayna, I know she’s waiting for her package. It will be fun to see everyone’s posts about this years Blogger’s Secret Santa!

Did you participate in a Secret Santa this year? I think they are always F-U-N!!

πŸ’… As always, thanks for stopping by.

I forgot to mention these nail prints in a pretty, festive gold foil. These will be great for New Year’s Eve. I will have fun playing with these, because I’ve never tried these before. And they are pretty! πŸ™‚

This is a gorgeous pink called Flamingo, by Gosh.. Gosh is a UK polish company. This was sent to me by my beautiful friend, Nicky. Thank you so much, Nicky!

I have actually had this on for a couple of days now, and still love it. You know me, I usually get bored and want to paint my nails a different color but not so with this one.

This has a great formula. I really like the Gosh polishes. Along with the Barry M, and Catrice, I think the UK has incredible polish choices. I feel so lucky to have a friend in Ireland, Nicky and a friend in London, Diana who are kind enough to send me polish from their countries.
Back to the formula, it goes on so smooth and depending on the color, can usually be done with one coat. This one is 2 thicker coats because of the dreaded VNL ( visible nail line) that I avoid at all costs. Some nails even have a 3rd coat. But the formula can take that without it building up, even worse than VNL is when the polish gets so built up on the nail it looks like a bubble? I don’t know how to describe what I’m talking about, but I don’t like when the polish is built up too much on my nails. Then I tend to want to pick at them. Does that make any sense? Bueller?

From left to right, Flamingo, Wild Lilac, Purple Heart, Dusty Rose and Miss Mole. Aren’t they pretty? I haven’t worn Miss Mole yet, but I love it, it has a charcoal shimmer running through it. I think it will be a very interesting color.

I hope the veining of the charcoal shows up in the above photo. Like I said,I think it will be an interesting color.

This picture makes me Happy! This is me and my kids up river in Hell’s Canyon probably about 10 years ago. . Our family friends, the Taylor’s, have a lodge up river in Hell’s Canyon. The only way in is by jet boat up the Snake River, through the rapids, to the lodge we go. They rent the lodge out, and it is rented way in advance but one week end a year they keep for the family. We were lucky enough to be invited, it was a fun week end! I love this picture of me and the kids, one of my favorites.πŸ˜ƒ

This picture was taken either last summer or the one before. Jilly labeled this photo, “<3 summer, to the lodge we go, with my other dad, Jud"πŸ˜„
These pictures make me Happy! I’m determined to find “happiness” this summer, wherever, whatever that may be. For me today, it’s these pictures of my beautiful family enjoying summer.β˜€
Thanks for stopping by!

I received the nicest package from my friend Nicky. Nicky is this beautiful young girl who lives in Ireland and loves nail polish almost as much as I do. I think this is our second or third swap package we have done together. I have had so many questions about swaps, how to do them, who to do them with, etc… I will answer those questions at the end of this post.
I want to show you what a great friend Nicky is, she knows just what I like

20120708-224610.jpgnail polish and lots of it!. She sent me 7 Catrice polishes in Dirty Berry, Aretha R-E-S-P-I-N-K, Bora Cara Ciao, London Weather Forecast, Pimp my Shrimp, Heavenly Metallic, Sold Out Forever. She sent me an Essence in Viva LE Green, 2 of the Barry M Chameleon in Chameleon Blue and Chameleon Pink, a bright neon purple from Pop Glam, 3 Gosh polishes in Flamingo, Lilac and Miss Mole. The most interesting things she sent were these duo ‘pens’ from Essence. They are small polishes one on each end. You can use them separately or they really come to life when you use one as a topcoat and they sparkle. Reminds me of the Max Factor Fantasy Fire.

20120708-225748.jpgSo very interesting.
I know Revlon is selling a duo, but they aren’t anything like these.

20120708-230027.jpgThese are the Revlon ‘duos’, they are basically 2 cream colors to create different French manicures with. When really, you probably already own a violet and lime green polish, or a tan and blue polish. The Essence Colour 3 are awesome and I can’t wait to play with them to see what I come up with.
The other thing Nicky sent me was a face contour compact from Sleek. You can see it in the first picture. It is a compact for contouring and highlighting. And I love it. I first saw this compact when Nicky had sent one to the beautiful Lori when they did a swap together. Thank you so much Nicky for getting this for me. I asked Nicky if she could get me a small purse or wallet. I wanted one that was decorated in the English flag or in honor of the Jubilee. I’d read on a blog that they were pretty much everywhere and not very much money. I think Nicky went above and beyond because she sent me the most beautiful little purses. They are too pretty to use.

20120708-231146.jpgThe top one is definitely too pretty to use./strong>. Even though the bottom one is so, so pretty I do want to use it. I will put my cash, debit card and other important papers in there and that will be my wallet so if I run into the grocery store I can grab that and go. It’s just so darn pretty, I really hate doing that, but because I love it I will use, and be very, very careful with it. πŸ€
Thank you so much Nicky! You are truly a beautiful girl, both on the inside and out! You are very, very sweet and I know this year will bring many blessings to you!

Yes, I can finally say I have a real bona-fide nail polish collection. I am so proud of myself. It has taken a lot of work, but the fun kind of work you like to do when organizing something you love. And I love my nail polishes. Okay, there I said it. I love my nail polishes. Not so much that I want to marry them, but I do love them. I love to look at them. I love to re-arrange them. I love to swatch them onto nail wheels, and then do it all over again but this time let’s do it by colors. As you all know, or should know, I recently found this odd little cabinet at a yard sale $2, and it was mine. This is what it looked like when I brought it home.

20120706-232700.jpgI knew with a minimum amount of work I could have it looking like this in no time.

20120706-232909.jpgI was right, wasn’t I? . It’s a thing of beauty! I see all these other nail polish storage units that people are buying on e-bay for $40-90 and I think my $2 cabinet beats theirs all to heck and back. (sorry to those of you that bought the pretty ones from e-bay, if you love it, that’s all that matters).
The other thing I’ve been doing and I haven’t told you about yet, is, I’ve been buying up old spice racks at yard sales and then spray painting them a cream color. So far I have 2 and they work so well for nail polish. Before I found my beautiful cabinet, the plan was to find enough spice racks, spray paint them and then hang them on the wall. I will continue to buy old spice racks because I think it’s a great idea and I may sell them with my polish, if I can ever get my on- line store up and running. I’m going to show a picture of what I mean

20120706-233705.jpgthis is in my bedroom where all my polish now lives. . No, your eyes aren’t bleeding, that is just the terrible color pink I have on my walls and have not got around to re-painting that room. All the other rooms have been re done but why is my bedroom always the last to get done? Anyway, as you can see, along with the cabinet I have the 2 spice racks, I’m sure I’ll add a few more here and there, but for the most part I am done organizing my polish and the best part is I have my dining room back! Remember what it looked like before?

20120706-234121.jpgthis is my dining room today. Not a nail polish in sight and I love it that way. I love having my corner china cupboard back for china and some of the chatchkees I found for Jilly but she hasn’t seen them yet. The other thing that is good about my polish collection being housed in my bedroom, is that is the room with the least amount of light, and we all know that light is not friends with your nail polish. Not for the long haul anyway.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to keep calm and paint your nails. πŸ’…
