Every Sunday I dedicate wearing a polish I own, that for whatever reason, I have never worn before. This is a way I can make sure to wear all my polish eventually. I usually buy polish 2or 3 at a time, and some of them get pushed to the back of the cabinet. This way I will not leave a polish out.

This Sunday I am wearing Russian Red by Mac
. This is a gorgeous red polish. I think it is the perfect red. Every girl needs a perfect red polish in her collection, and this would be a good one.

20120826-150821.jpg. This was given to me by my friend Indie as a birthday present. I wore it once in a half and half manicure I’d done with the Russian Red and an Orange polish.

20120826-151001.jpg. I love this polish so much I will be putting it in my Top 5 list. The formula is great, it goes on so smooth, flawless, dries like glass. I used a fast dry top coat but you don’t really need one because it is so shiny on its own. I painted 2 thin coats. The first coat was a little streaky, which I find that a lot with a good quality polish. The second coat goes on smooth and evens everything out. I think when people first paint a polish they want the first coat to be perfect so they add more polish. When you do that, after the polish dries it will pool and bubble, so to keep that from happening, I paint using 2 thin coats. The result is a flawless glass like finish that is gorgeous. I can’t stop looking at it.

20120826-151414.jpg. This seems to be a pretty fancy polish, but I have been wearing it for 2 days now and I am loving more every day. Thank you so much Indie for getting this for me. Please check out Indie’s You Tube channel and she also has a blog, listed in my blog roll, where she does awesome reviews on different products. She will review make up, eyeshadow, shampoo, mascaras, blush, ect…. The thing that is different about Indie’s reviews is she is very thorough, leaves no stone un turned. Once she reviews a product you will have all your questions answered. Love that about her. one of my very favorite You Tube videos EVER is Indie and her daughter doing a Mother’s Day makeover. It is the funniest thing to watch, but so touching to see the love between these two and the patience only a mother can possess. I hope you check it out. You can see it here.

20120826-152446.jpg one more photo for the road. So, so pretty. Tell me what you think about this polish. Is this your perfect red color? What is your perfect red.

💅Thanks so much for stopping by💅

Yes, I can finally say I have a real bona-fide nail polish collection. I am so proud of myself. It has taken a lot of work, but the fun kind of work you like to do when organizing something you love. And I love my nail polishes. Okay, there I said it. I love my nail polishes. Not so much that I want to marry them, but I do love them. I love to look at them. I love to re-arrange them. I love to swatch them onto nail wheels, and then do it all over again but this time let’s do it by colors. As you all know, or should know, I recently found this odd little cabinet at a yard sale $2, and it was mine. This is what it looked like when I brought it home.

20120706-232700.jpgI knew with a minimum amount of work I could have it looking like this in no time.

20120706-232909.jpgI was right, wasn’t I? . It’s a thing of beauty! I see all these other nail polish storage units that people are buying on e-bay for $40-90 and I think my $2 cabinet beats theirs all to heck and back. (sorry to those of you that bought the pretty ones from e-bay, if you love it, that’s all that matters).
The other thing I’ve been doing and I haven’t told you about yet, is, I’ve been buying up old spice racks at yard sales and then spray painting them a cream color. So far I have 2 and they work so well for nail polish. Before I found my beautiful cabinet, the plan was to find enough spice racks, spray paint them and then hang them on the wall. I will continue to buy old spice racks because I think it’s a great idea and I may sell them with my polish, if I can ever get my on- line store up and running. I’m going to show a picture of what I mean

20120706-233705.jpgthis is in my bedroom where all my polish now lives. . No, your eyes aren’t bleeding, that is just the terrible color pink I have on my walls and have not got around to re-painting that room. All the other rooms have been re done but why is my bedroom always the last to get done? Anyway, as you can see, along with the cabinet I have the 2 spice racks, I’m sure I’ll add a few more here and there, but for the most part I am done organizing my polish and the best part is I have my dining room back! Remember what it looked like before?

20120706-234121.jpgthis is my dining room today. Not a nail polish in sight and I love it that way. I love having my corner china cupboard back for china and some of the chatchkees I found for Jilly but she hasn’t seen them yet. The other thing that is good about my polish collection being housed in my bedroom, is that is the room with the least amount of light, and we all know that light is not friends with your nail polish. Not for the long haul anyway.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to keep calm and paint your nails. 💅

This is the cabinet I found at a yard sale a couple weeks ago. I thought this would be perfect for my nail polish to live in. I’ve been keeping my polish in the corner cupboard in the dining room. This is not the ideal place for polish as it is full of morning light along with afternoon light. And, as we all know, light is not friends with polish.

20120703-000357.jpgBut as you can see, this cabinet needed some work.. The slats needed to be removed in such a fashion to allow the polish to stand upright in the cupboard. This was only about a 15 minute task as the slats were made of MDA and broke in 2 pieces rather easily. When I was done removing slats, this is what it looked like.

20120703-000706.jpg after each time I would do a video Showing a part of my collection I would then add the polish to my cabinet. Finally today I finished my collection with my Revlon polishes. I have more Revlon polish than any other brand because of my un-ending hunt for CHANEL dupes. It’s amazing how many I have found in such a short time. (Be sure to check the page above called “Check Here for Dupes)
Here is my cabinet all complete, with a home for all my polishes.

20120703-001205.jpgRight now I have them organized by brand. I think ideally I would like to have them organized by color. But it’s a start. I’ve moved the cabinet into my bedroom. It sits perfectly on top of my dresser. My bedroom is the room with the least amount of light, the perfect home for my polish.

20120703-001600.jpgunfortunately this is what my dining room looks like. Now that this nail polish cabinet project is over, I can finish my dining room. Soon I will have an after picture that shows how great my dining room really is, not just a stop over for polish.

💅Thanks for stopping by and if you want to see the final part of my collection you can find it here.

Does it ever end? Soon, I promise. I am working through these as fast as I can. As I do each brand and make the video, then write about it, I then put it away in my new cabinet I found to keep my polish in. I’m excited because the cabinet is filling up and my dining room cupboard is becoming cleaner and looks more like a china cupboard than a nail polish store.
#7 does have some great polishes including my all time favorite CHANEL. CHANEL Black Pearl is probably my favorite number 1 polish of all time. I think it is so interesting the way it can look gray one minute, then green, then black. Awesome! 😍

Of course the next favorite of all time is CHANEL May. May is my birthday and May is pink. Doesn’t get any better than that, as far as I’m concerned.

20120619-101736.jpg May is one of those colors that while driving all I want to look at is my nails.🚗 probably not a good idea.

For my long time readers, you will know that I ‘used’ to hate the color red for nails. Couldn’t stand it. What was I thinking? Take a look at these gorgeous nails and you will wonder the same thing.

20120619-102127.jpgthis Russian Red from MAC along with Rosa Rosa by Estée Lauder.

#7 is full of old favorites but also some new favorites, as well. Including this beautiful little number from Wet n Wild called Lavender Cream

#7 just may be my new lucky number.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and for hanging in there with me. As I said, we’re almost to the end! Ha! Always remember to Keep Calm and Paint your Nails.💅

Ever since wearing “Russian Red” by MAC, sent to me by my friend Indie, I have been feeling very lady like. Almost as if I need matching hat, gloves and shoes when leaving the house. What? What is up with that?

Gotta love the “Russian Red”. I’ve also been thinking a lot about Attraction from CHANEL. Attraction is a white nail polish, maybe a little shimmer, maybe a little glitter, but really nothing too special. It makes me think of days gone by, the same way Russian Red and Cherries in the Snow do.
So, this brings me to the question of the day, why, with all these thoughts of lady like- ness, matching hats to gloves, do I paint my nails with the Pacific Blue? Go figure, but I love it!

I do love this color. I thought at first that it would be too much, but it really isn’t. The other odd thing about it, it makes my nails feel like iron. They feel very strong and healthy. This polish just may have made it into the top 5 of all time favorites. Hmmm… Go figure?

In the mail yesterday I received the sweetest birthday present. Indie sent me 4 bottles of polish. I don’t have any of these brands and I’m so excited to try them. The colors are great and not like anything I have. Which is good!
Starting on the left, CND Asphalt, CND Dark Ruby, Sinful Colors Dream On and MAC Russian Red.

Indie knows I have an ‘obsession’ for William and Kate, she sent me a couple of post cards and a magnet with W and K photos. I love those, Indie. Thank You!
She also sent 2 beauty diary sheet masks. I used one last night and I loved it. It felt very soothing on my skin.
I painted my nails with the MAC Russian Red. I was thinking this might be too much red, so I did one of my half & half manicures with Estée Lauder Rosa Rosa to go along with Russian Red.

I must say, I feel very grown up and lady like today. I think I should call my girlfriends, get dressed up, put on some proper shoes, and go to a fancy, schmancy type of restaurant for tea. What? If only there was a place like that in my town, I’d be there. Of course, I would change my shoes. Somehow these shoes don’t go with my nails today.

Thank you so much, Indie. I really appreciate this! I love everything you sent. It’s people like you that I’m so glad to call my friend. 🙂
**Updated Photo **
I’m trying to get a better photo so show how pretty this polish is. I’m sorry it this is the best I could do, it’s kind of cloudy here today.

One of the great things I love about being a blogger and making You Tube videos, is the friends you make along the way. There is a community among the beauty bloggers and you tubers like no other. Some of the nicest people you’d ever want to meet are blogging their little hearts out every day. Not to mention the courage it takes to put yourself out there by doing a You Tube video. But that’s a subject for another day.

Today I want to tell you about my friend Indie. Indie has a blog called GirlieReview. She buys, with her own money, all kinds of make up, high end and drug store. She thoroughly tests the products and then writes reviews for them. She is very precise and covers all the bases. I for one do not purchase any beauty item without first seeing what Indie had to say about it. The other great thing she does are these great giveaways. She does giveaways very frequently, and for awesome prizes. I won a giveaway !!. Woo Hoo!

I won a MAC blush in Immortal Flower,

20120504-104650.jpg, a pretty peachy color. I also won from MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Whisper of Gilt.

I have never had any product like the skin finish highlighter. To tell you the truth I am thrilled to have this. I would never buy something like this for myself. It is almost too pretty to use.

I tried to do a swatch for you, sorry, I know, I’m pathetic at swatching! I had to really kind dig into the blush to get any color, but the golden one went on like butter. Just like buttah, I tell ya.
Those two blended together is gorge!

So to my friend Indie, I say thank you! I love everything, and thank you for the extra goodies you sent. (she sent a Shiseido Pureness moisturizer sample, 2 samples of Extra Thick Felt nail polish remover pads, a Willa fresh face cucumber face mask and a tube of bodycology cucumber melon body cream). I will enjoy using these products as well. Thank you so much. I have enjoyed getting to know you, I love your blog and I love your videos. You do a great job with both!
Please check out Indie’s You Tube channel here :GirlieReview You Tube
And you can find Indie’s blog here : Girlie Review Blogspot
Please check her out. Right now she has a couple of great giveaways running. One is for Mother’s Day and one is for Memorial Day. the thing is though, once you get to know Indie, you will watch/read her, regardless of the giveaways! She is a doll baby!

Love you Indie, and thanks again!
