I know it’s been a while, since Dec 13th, 2013 to be exact. That is the day I had a grand Mal seizure which started my journey of learning about seizures, strokes, the difference between .. Etc….

I won’t bore you with the details but I am back to almost 100%. I have come to realize I will never be seizure free but I can live with this disorder so I count myself lucky. Please don’t feel sorry for me. I feel like I owe many of you an explanation as to why I was here one day and gone the next. I enjoy this little blog of mine and have every intention of continuing with it.

So, please bear with me, stay tuned. I have some awesome new polish to show you. Have you heard CHANEL has changed their formula for real and, at this time offer only 14 colors. That is one story I would like to find out more about and I hope you’ll be interested, as well.

A couple of years away and there new trends to review, the gel nail without a light (or gel for that matter), the 10X shine that seems to be making the rounds. And of course the new CHANEL formula.  The pictures are Camelia.  This is one of the new formulas and I love it!  Like most of you I’m disappointed in the color choices by I am going to give CHANEL the chance to bring our favorite colors into the mix.  May anyone?  As in the color May, my all time CHANEL favorite!

I will have a full review of the new formula coming soon.  Let me know if there are any others you would like reviewed.

Without being sappy I have missed my blog friends so, so much. I hope to hear from you all, and soon!

mwahhh!!!

The number for this week was 79, I have a confession to make regarding the numbers. My google spreadsheet quit working for me quite some time ago. My friend Diana sent the original to me, and between my health issues and her being on holiday I haven’t had a chance to ask how I can fix it. I have just been using my nail polishes willy nilly, no rhyme nor reason. 💋💋
It’s not nearly as much fun as the Nail Polish Lottery Club and I hope to be back on track this week. (I think I have a plan to fix the problem, remember I said I think).
If you would like more information about the club, please go to our Facebook page here. We’d love to have you, all are welcome!
Now for this weeks “pick”

Porchester Square from Nails, Inc GEL NAIL POLISH EFFECT . This is a fairly new line from Nails, Inc claiming the benefits of a gel manicure, without the gel or the special light needed for curing the polish. The bottle says it has a new ‘plasticizer’ technology and it allows for plumping of the nail. I’m not sure about the plumping part, or why that would be a selling point, but I absolutely love the idea of a gel polish without the fuss. 😘

Porchester Square is a great color. Nails, Inc sells this color in their regular line too. It’s one of my favorite types of colors, a mushroom taupe-y color that I think is a neutral and can be worn for all occasions. I would wear this for a job interview, without hesitation.

The formula on this was nice and smooth, easy to apply. The bottle is small, .27 ounce, but the brush was not too tiny for my big ‘ol nail beds. People with smaller nail beds will really like this brush.
These pictures are all 2 coats with a quick dry top coat. If I really wanted I could have used only 1 coat, a thicker application would be needed but coverage for this polish is awesome. I prefer to use thinner coats and I guess I’ve just made it a habit to always show 2 coats on my blog.

I have been trying out a few of these “gel effect” nail polishes to see how they hold up over time. I will have a post coming soon comparing the “gel effect” and showing the time frame each have for wear. I think it will be interesting and I’m curious to see how this one holds up. Stay tuned!

FINAL THOUGHTS: Nails, Inc GEL EFFECT polish has a nice formula, great coverage, easy to apply and I think the color is pretty. So far so good, but time will tell!

💅 As always, thanks for stopping by!

I like mixing and matching the colors, up to 3 colors for a manicure is fun for me. But these are also pretty by themselves. The formula is a bit thicker but not too thick. Also, Sugar Shimmer dries faster than a normal polish so you need to work a little faster.
Once dry, these are gorgeous sparkling nails. So pretty when the sun hits them!
You can find Sally Hansen nail polish in the Sugar Shimmer line at most drug stores.
I used 2 coats, no top coat for all the pictures. Tip when Using Sugar Shimmer: For best results, be sure to let dry completely between coats.
If you want to use a top coat, it will not take away from the sparkle but the finish will be more shiny. I personally like the matte type finish with the sparkle.

Let me know if you have tried these or if you plan to. I don’t think you would be disappointed with this one!

Gem from Nubar is a sparkle fest of pretty! I am no fan of glitter nail polish, as you all know, but this one is different. The formula for Gem is smooth and applies like a cream polish. Nubar has an excellent formula that wears well–a full week with very minimal tip wear and no chipping–and is one of my favorites. The consistency isn’t too thick or too thin, which enables the polish to apply evenly without streaking. Gem needs 2 coats for full opacity. I did not use a top coat. The caps for Nubar nail polish are all rubberized, very easy to open and to hold.
Removal was not difficult, it was not as easy as a straight up cream, but not hard to remove. I just held the pad with the remover on for a few seconds and then removed. When dry my nails were smooth and sparkled like crazy. I’ve had this bottle for quite sometime but hesitated to use due to my dislike of glitter polish. Another reason the Nail Polish Lottery Club is so much fun!

Nubar nail polish is completely, 100% cruelty free! I love that about this brand, I love that about any brand! The Leaping Bunny logo indicates that not only is Nubar a cruelty free brand , but all their suppliers are also cruelty free. I have an app on my phone (Cruelty-Free). that tells you the cruelty free companies. Not just nail polish but for all types of products. It comes in handy while shopping. It is nice to have a reliable source of cruelty free companies.
I know this is a touchy subject and there is so much mis-information out there and I have found the last place for accurate information are the companies themselves. (One very popular company touts itself as a “vegan” brand of nail polish yet when you search their website for vegan polish, 6 colors come up. I’m not sure how many colors they offer but it is hundreds, if not thousands. I don’t know why but they have also become to be known as cruelty free and that is an out and out lie.) I have come to rely on the Leaping Bunny logo and on my iPhone app: Cruelty-Free

20140315-135333.jpg
FINAL THOUGHTS: on Gem from Nubar. I like this sparkle-y color a lot. I also like this company because of the fact they are part of the Leaping Bunny organization. This is definetly one of my favorite brands. Nubar is sold in salons and online. There are quite a few online resources. I bought mine from Amazonfor $6-10 each.

For more information and the guidelines for the Nail Polish Lottery Club, please go to our Facebook page here. I have had so much fun the last year seeing every ones picks each week. Also, I love when we show pictures of our collections!!

This is a new series I will be doing each Monday. Each month I have been naming a polish of the month, but that’s about as far as I’ve got, with this new series every Monday I will highlight one of my favorites from that brand.

20130610-110428.jpg
This polish was sent to me by a PR firm for the company to sample and review.
Scouse by butter LONDON is a royal blue polish that sparkles yet it is not a glitter polish. It has micro glitters of some pink, purple and I do see some lighter blue in there. Butter London describes this on their website as a sheer royal blue but as you can see with 2 coats it is not sheer. In some lights I do see a bit of VNL but not bad enough to make me want to add another coat. It is one of those “interesting polishes, in that it looks different in different lights“. My favorite kind of polish.

20130610-111345.jpg
Scouse is slang in England for a person from Liverpool. The nail polish Scouse is a year round color. Appropriate for all seasons. I love the way BL does their micro-glitters. I was first introduced to their micro-glitters with All Hail the Queen, which for those you who don’t know is a putty colored cream with putty colored micro-glitter. The effect looked like sparkles on a beautiful sandy beach. Scouse looks more like the edges of a gorgeous, deep lake. (We have a lot of lakes in Idaho). I don’t know how they do it and I have not seen another company even come close to achieving this same effect. It is like a cream finish with sparkles, no texture, no “sea salt” finish, just sparkles. The effect is stunning and makes me want to stare at my nails, especially in the sunlight. Not a good polish for driving, very dis-tracting!
Since I haven’t removed Scouse and probably won’t for a few days yet I don’t know if it will be easy to remove but all the other BL polish with this finish I’ve tried in the past have been easy to remove.

20130610-112739.jpg
Then, of course, the Leaping Bunny logo. Another reason I love butter LONDON nail polish. butter LONDON is a cruelty free nail polish. Since I’ve been looking for the Leaping Bunny logo I have come across some different kinds of bunny logos. But The Leaping Bunny is the one I trust, you can read why in previous posts on this blog.
Last summer when I did my Nail Polish Comparison by Brand “study”, where I compared over 60 brands of polish, butter LONDON™ finished #9. As for Scouse I give this 5/5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. I could not find a reason to take away a star. If you haven’t tried Scouse yet, you will love it. You can find butter LONDON™ at Ulta, Nordstrom and on their website. They retail for $15 for a .4 oz bottle, but look for sales Ulta and Nordstrom often have a buy 2, get 1 free as well as their website. You can sign up for a newsletter and BL will notify you of their sales.

(These pictures were pulled from OPI’s website back in March 2012)
This sweet little collection is available now. Distribution is limited and in true Minnie fashion, she won’t be around long. “A lady mouse ne’er overstays her welcome!”. Once she Is gone, she is gone. That’s not to say she won’t come back again, most assuredly in a different outfit, but we never know, with her busy schedule it could be awhile before we see her again.

I do have a limited amount of sets for sale. If you would like the entire collection (full size bottles) the price is $40, which includes shipping for US. At this time I can only ship US. I am working on being able to take international orders.
( But if you know someone that can buy this for you from me, then they can ship to you. )
If you are interested, please let me know.
You can Email me: Judi.Tierney@yahoo.com with any questions.

Or if you’re dying to get your hands on the cutest OPI Minnie Mouse collection ever send $40 (US) Minnie Mouse Collection, C/O ECIS , PO BOX 1630, Lewiston, ID. 83501

**Sorry, but at this time I can not take returns. And orders will be filled first come, first served. And by that I mean first $$ received, will be shipped. Shipping should be within 24 hours of receiving funds. Each package will be packed very carefully to ensure a safe delivery 🙂

I don’t know what it is about this smoky, grey, purple, brown, dirt colored polish that draws me in, but it’s obvious I really like this color!
You can see these swatched, they are identical. Starting on the left is Sally Hansen Commander in Chic. Next to that is Essie Merino Cool. I bought these 2 polishes at different times and was so surprised that the Essie color was an exact dupe for Sephora by OPI Metro Chic that I did a You Tube video showcasing my “discovery”. At the time the Metro Chic was sold out and there was a huge buzz about it. I soon learned that Commander in Chic was also a dupe. So much for my “discovery”!
I recently bought the Revlon to test it against a CHANEL polish, it is a dupe, and it is listed on my CHANEL dupe page. (you know I don’t list anything on my dupe page unless I know it is a dead on, exact dupe) 🙂

So this is #2 in this series. I’m kind of proud of myself that I only have 3 bottles, this time! 🙂

Tell me, what are your colors you really like?
