Sunday Series #3. This is Maria from the Julep collection. I’ve had this polish since I began the Julep program back in November. I believe this was in either my first box, or the second. I’ve never worn Maria out of the house. Again, I don’t know why, I think it is very pretty. It is a little streaky, even with the Sech Vite topcoat, but I guess that’s expected of metallic. I like the metallic polishes, so we shall see. As always, I will keep you updated if I fail again!

Just a Reminder: I know all good nail polish addicts are aware, but Julep is still offering their introduction boxes for one penny. This enrolls you into their Maven program which is a monthly subscription service for nail polish. Julep is by far my favorite subscription service I belong to. They are so easy to work with and now they have the added benefit of being able to do an add on. An add on is where you may buy one or more colors from another box. I think it is brilliant! If you are not yet a member and want to get your first box for one cent click here: Julep One Cent Offer
Use the promo code PENNY or COLOR2012. They do not add on for shipping or any other charges, it is just one cent charged to your account! This also enrolls you into their Maven program. Once a month you will receive an email showing you what is in your box and in all the other boxes. You can choose another box if you like their colors better, you can skip a month or cancel. One other service they offer is they will ship your box to a friend for you. Say your friends birthday is coming up and you haven’t had time to shop, Julep will mail your box to them. They always package everything so nice, it would make a beautiful gift. Or if you go away for the summer, they will ship to your summer house. I just think they are a great company and I love doing business with them. I’m not saying they are perfect, they’re not, but it’s how they handle the little mistakes so they don’t turn into big messes. After dealing with the likes of MyGlam, StyleMint and so many others, Julep is a pure joy to work with. 🙂

As a side note:. I have been thinking about selling nail polish off this site. I have an opportunity to pre-order the Minnie Mouse collection. It will be released June 1st and by all accounts it will be sold out soon. Would you want to buy some of the Minnie Mouse polish from me? Let me know what you think, if enough of you are interested, I will place an order. Also, I can order Venique polish, which as you all know is my favorite polish ever!. Leave me a comment if you are interested in either one of those. I for one cannot wait for the Minnie Mouse collection! 🙂

Hi Everyone,
This is Revlon Wild Strawberry, from their Colorstay collection. It is a real bright, pink duo-chrome with highlights of purple, so pretty!

While I was at Nordstrom the other day, I looked at CHANEL’s Tentation. It too is a real bright, pink duo-chrome with highlights of purple.

20120411-105044.jpg
Although I did not buy the CHANEL Tentation ($26) and I cannot do a comparison on a wheel or my nails, I think the Revlon Wild Strawberry is a perfect dupe for the CHANEL. Pretty darn close, and for the $21 difference in price, if there is a slight difference, I don’t care. I love the color and I’m so glad to spend $4.99 to get it as opposed to $26. I’m just sayin’. Anyone who knows me, knows I love CHANEL. I love their handbags, clothes, Karl, make-up, mascara and especially their polishes. The polish was always a piece of CHANEL I could afford and own. When they were priced at $18 I could justify, even when they creeped up to $23, I could still qualify purchasing. But now that they have gone to $26 and $28 for limited editions, I cannot justify spending that on a nail polish. As much as I love me some CHANEL. So, I will continue to haunt the CHANEL website for new colors and do my best to find dupes.

BTW, what do you think of my new layout? Like, or not so much? I’m still trying to find the perfect layout. I have so many posts I want to do but I want the layout to be perfect. I’m still trying to figure out how to have a blog roll on my page so you can see the blogs I follow, maybe there is one you will like as well! Anyway, let me know what you think. And, what does a sister have to do to get some love?

I like this combination for a spring manicure. What do you think?

If you read my earlier posts you know I have painted all my polish onto nail wheels. This was actually a fun exercise and it is nice to be able to look at the wheels, and pick a color to use. Today I couldn’t decide which color I wanted, so I used both. Carrie is the pink one and Alicia is the orange. These are both from Julep.
For those of you who don’t know, Julep is a monthly subscription service for nail polish. Remember the book of the month club or Coumbia House records? Julep is like that. When you first sign up they determine your style from a quiz and then depending on your style you will receive a box, monthly with 2 new polishes and some other beauty item. The most recent boxes contained a bottle of organic Argan oil. This is all for $19.99 per month. For a limited time you can receive your first box for only ONE CENT. At checkout use the code MARCHINTRO or COLOR2012.

This is a great deal, you can cancel at any time, skip a month or have your box sent to a friend. If you don’t like the colors in your box you can pick whichever box you want. One of the things I like about Julep is they are on top of the trends for colors of nail polish. It’s nice to know that whatever color is ‘trending’ you know it will show up in their boxes. I bet it won’t be long and some soft powdery blues will be featured. I think that is the next trend for polish colors. But that’s just my humble opinion.
Thanks so much for reading my little blog, don’t forget about my You Tube channel, and show a girl some love… Leave a comment! 😉

This is Estée Lauder Pure Color in Rosa Rosa. I am in love with this color. I took this picture yesterday afternoon when the sun came out. The sun came out for about 15 minutes yesterday.
This is how the day started

I can’t put my finger on why I like this color, but I do. It is pink, coral and dare I say red, all in one. Now, I know I have said over and over I do not like red fingernail polish and I know I have said over and over you will never see me with red fingernail polish. Is this really red? You tell me.

20120312-110147.jpg
Yea, I’d say that is red. But I like it. So I take back all my rumblings about the use of red fingernail polish.

These are the prettiest little bottles of polish I own. They are like little ice cubes with color in the center. Molten Lava is on the left and it is as dark as it looks, almost black. In the bottle it has different shimmers. I thought it would be more like Revlon Naughty (which used to be called Perplexed and is an exact dupe for CHANEL Paradoxial). But it comes out black. I’m not sure but I may be returning this one.
Please check out my You Tube channel here:My You Tube channelfor more info on this polish. And I wanted to remind you of the ONE PENNY promotion from Julep. As far as I know it is still on. Use the code COLOR2012 or MARCHINTRO to receive the entire box for one penny. Go to Julep here:Julep Maven program
Tell me, what do you think of the Rosa Rosa? Do you like as much as I do? Do you think I should reverse my entire stance against red fingernail polish?
Update: I forgot to say the polish is $18, .3 fluid ounces. As a point of reference CHANEL polishes are .4 fluid ounce, OPI are .5 and Julep is .27 fluid ounce. These were bought at Macy’s. I’m sure Nordstrom, Barney’s and where ever Estée Lauder is sold would have them.

Today is the Academy Awards broadcast. Ashley is coming to watch with me at my house. Just the 2 of us. When the girls were little we would all dress up, including Drew and watch the Oscars and pretend we were there. What I wouldn’t give to have those days back!

This is the most recent picture of Ashley and I. Ashley wanted us to enter a contest put on by StyleMint to win new tees. The contest was to submit a picture with some one you love wearing Style Mint tees. This is the picture Ashley submitted:

Wouldn’t it be a hoot if we won? Fingers crossed. Ok now on to the nail of the day (NOTD) this is Go Go Pink by China Glaze. I picked this up in a prepackaged set of this polish, a bottle of Seche Vite fast drying top coat and a pink crystal angel for your key ring. This was put out during October for breast cancer awareness month. I was in a pink mood today so I used this color.

20120226-143438.jpg
I have quite a few pink polishes but that didn’t stop me from picking up yet another one. This is from Butter London, I loved the packaging and the polish remover smells like baby powder.

20120226-143718.jpg
The color is Teddy Girl. And yes I ordered this before lent. I painted these two side by side and i cannot tell the difference between them. China Glaze did take a third coat for full opacity, while the Butter London only needed two coats.
Thanks for stopping by.
Do you like this pink? Ever in a pink mood?
