For those who are new to my blog, every Sunday I wear a polish from my collection that I have never worn before. I don’t have an enormous amount of polish, but I do have quite a few that haven’t been worn. I do not want to hoard nail polish, I do not want to collect nail polish, I want to wear my polish, and this helps me to do that.

Eggplant Frost from Wet n Wild Wild Shine. This is one of those 99 cent polishes from Wet n Wild, that I think are great. I say they are 99 cents because that is the price marked on the box they are displayed in, but to tell the truth I’ve never spent more than 48 cents for one of the Wild Shine polishes. They are on a perpetual half off sale. Every drug store has these but you have to look down to find them. They are always on the bottom shelf. They are great little polishes with some great colors. They are opaque in 2 coats, sometimes 1, and seem to wear well. I think this eggplant color is pretty and I’m glad I dug it out from behind all my Wild Shines to wear it today.

This summer I wore this brand quite often. One of my all time favorites is Lavender Cream:

I also wore Lady Luck a lot, and I used Lady Luck for my Mom too:

Another favorite, for any time of year is Metallica:

My grocery store carries Wet n Wild make up and they have these little polishes in a blister wrap, hanging from a hook, so maybe your grocery store will have these. Don’t let the cheaper than cheap price fool you, or scare you away from these! This is a great polish and I highly recommend them. Every time I go to the drug store I always check the display for the Wild Shine for new colors. It’s funny though because for months, and I mean months, since the end of July the display has had 2 colors black and turquoise green. Every store I’ve checked, even in Moscow and Spokane, black and green. It’s almost as if they won’t bring in a new display until those are sold. They were marked 3 for a dollar and now I noticed they are 4 for a dollar so hopefully they will sell soon!

These are some of my Wild Shines. I have some at my Mom’s house because she really likes this polish too.

Jilly and I shopping on Saturday at the happiest place on earth, Nordstrom beauty counters! It was a great day! I love spending time with my favorite daughter.

💅As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

I have been asked several times to do a comparison study of polish by brand. Well actually I have been asked what brand do I like the best? As I’ve never really done a comparative study of the brands I have spent the last several months doing just that.

As you can clearly see I have a crazy manicure going on right now. I’ve received 2 compliments on my nais today. No one has said what the hey? Which by the way this is day 2 of this crazy manicure and you can see some slight wear already starting. The Essie Play Date and my beloved Lavender Creme are showing slight bits of wear, but I’m not ready to hold it against them, just yet.

The other thing I noticed is how crazily similar OPI Strawberry Margarita is to Wet n Wild Lavender Creme.

I will check back with you in a couple days, as Operation Crazy Mani continues………

These are in particular order?
1. Revlon Grey Suede.

2. OPI Skull & Glossbones

3. Zoya Wednesday

4. OPI Strawberry Margarita

5. China Glaze Pink Voltage ( neon)

6. Essie Play Date

7. Sally Hansen Pacific Blue

8. Venique Heel d’Orssey

9. Wet n Wild Lavender creme

10. Wet n Wild Dream Poppy

Probably my three favorites are the last three, Heel d’Orssey, Lavender Creme and Dream Poppy.

My next 2 favorites are Wednesday and Pacific blue.

And, as surprised as I was, I think my favorite out of all of them has got to be Wet n Wild Lavender Creme. I wear this color over and over. I will take this polish off only to re-apply, and that never happens. So, the Number One spot for me this summer is Labender Creme. 🎉💅🆒

Yes, I can finally say I have a real bona-fide nail polish collection. I am so proud of myself. It has taken a lot of work, but the fun kind of work you like to do when organizing something you love. And I love my nail polishes. Okay, there I said it. I love my nail polishes. Not so much that I want to marry them, but I do love them. I love to look at them. I love to re-arrange them. I love to swatch them onto nail wheels, and then do it all over again but this time let’s do it by colors. As you all know, or should know, I recently found this odd little cabinet at a yard sale $2, and it was mine. This is what it looked like when I brought it home.

20120706-232700.jpgI knew with a minimum amount of work I could have it looking like this in no time.

20120706-232909.jpgI was right, wasn’t I? . It’s a thing of beauty! I see all these other nail polish storage units that people are buying on e-bay for $40-90 and I think my $2 cabinet beats theirs all to heck and back. (sorry to those of you that bought the pretty ones from e-bay, if you love it, that’s all that matters).
The other thing I’ve been doing and I haven’t told you about yet, is, I’ve been buying up old spice racks at yard sales and then spray painting them a cream color. So far I have 2 and they work so well for nail polish. Before I found my beautiful cabinet, the plan was to find enough spice racks, spray paint them and then hang them on the wall. I will continue to buy old spice racks because I think it’s a great idea and I may sell them with my polish, if I can ever get my on- line store up and running. I’m going to show a picture of what I mean

20120706-233705.jpgthis is in my bedroom where all my polish now lives. . No, your eyes aren’t bleeding, that is just the terrible color pink I have on my walls and have not got around to re-painting that room. All the other rooms have been re done but why is my bedroom always the last to get done? Anyway, as you can see, along with the cabinet I have the 2 spice racks, I’m sure I’ll add a few more here and there, but for the most part I am done organizing my polish and the best part is I have my dining room back! Remember what it looked like before?

20120706-234121.jpgthis is my dining room today. Not a nail polish in sight and I love it that way. I love having my corner china cupboard back for china and some of the chatchkees I found for Jilly but she hasn’t seen them yet. The other thing that is good about my polish collection being housed in my bedroom, is that is the room with the least amount of light, and we all know that light is not friends with your nail polish. Not for the long haul anyway.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to keep calm and paint your nails. 💅

This is the cabinet I found at a yard sale a couple weeks ago. I thought this would be perfect for my nail polish to live in. I’ve been keeping my polish in the corner cupboard in the dining room. This is not the ideal place for polish as it is full of morning light along with afternoon light. And, as we all know, light is not friends with polish.

20120703-000357.jpgBut as you can see, this cabinet needed some work.. The slats needed to be removed in such a fashion to allow the polish to stand upright in the cupboard. This was only about a 15 minute task as the slats were made of MDA and broke in 2 pieces rather easily. When I was done removing slats, this is what it looked like.

20120703-000706.jpg after each time I would do a video Showing a part of my collection I would then add the polish to my cabinet. Finally today I finished my collection with my Revlon polishes. I have more Revlon polish than any other brand because of my un-ending hunt for CHANEL dupes. It’s amazing how many I have found in such a short time. (Be sure to check the page above called “Check Here for Dupes)
Here is my cabinet all complete, with a home for all my polishes.

20120703-001205.jpgRight now I have them organized by brand. I think ideally I would like to have them organized by color. But it’s a start. I’ve moved the cabinet into my bedroom. It sits perfectly on top of my dresser. My bedroom is the room with the least amount of light, the perfect home for my polish.

20120703-001600.jpgunfortunately this is what my dining room looks like. Now that this nail polish cabinet project is over, I can finish my dining room. Soon I will have an after picture that shows how great my dining room really is, not just a stop over for polish.

💅Thanks for stopping by and if you want to see the final part of my collection you can find it here.

Does it ever end? Soon, I promise. I am working through these as fast as I can. As I do each brand and make the video, then write about it, I then put it away in my new cabinet I found to keep my polish in. I’m excited because the cabinet is filling up and my dining room cupboard is becoming cleaner and looks more like a china cupboard than a nail polish store.
#7 does have some great polishes including my all time favorite CHANEL. CHANEL Black Pearl is probably my favorite number 1 polish of all time. I think it is so interesting the way it can look gray one minute, then green, then black. Awesome! 😍

Of course the next favorite of all time is CHANEL May. May is my birthday and May is pink. Doesn’t get any better than that, as far as I’m concerned.

20120619-101736.jpg May is one of those colors that while driving all I want to look at is my nails.🚗 probably not a good idea.

For my long time readers, you will know that I ‘used’ to hate the color red for nails. Couldn’t stand it. What was I thinking? Take a look at these gorgeous nails and you will wonder the same thing.

20120619-102127.jpgthis Russian Red from MAC along with Rosa Rosa by Estée Lauder.

#7 is full of old favorites but also some new favorites, as well. Including this beautiful little number from Wet n Wild called Lavender Cream

#7 just may be my new lucky number.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and for hanging in there with me. As I said, we’re almost to the end! Ha! Always remember to Keep Calm and Paint your Nails.💅
